Vibe/Matrix Discontinued?

Post by MrMarty »

Hello EveryoneThis is my first post here and I need an answer to this question. Is the Vibe/Matrix discontinued? I went to a large Pontiac/Buick/GMC dealer near my home to look at the Vibe and the salesman told me that they haven't had a Vibe in 6 months and won't be getting anymore because Toyota has discontinued the Matrix and the Vibe went bye-bye with it.I know that there are many, many 2006 Vibes still available. Is this guy on the level or just totally misinformed?MrMarty

Welcome aboard, first off. Glad you found us.I'd say it is time to find yourself another dealer. As far as we know, the Vibe will be around for at least a little while longer. For 2007, the GT and AWD models are rumored to go bye-bye but the base cars will still be around. A redesigned Matrix will arrive in a couple of years, hopefully a new Vibe will as well. The dealer probably just doesn't want to (or can't) sell Vibes so they may not be bothering with having them in stock. The dealer I go to hasn't had more than three or so Vibes on the lot at any given time since I bought mine in 2003, and the ones that are on the lot stay there forever. They've also gone a long time having none on the lot at all. With the way sales here seem so sluggish, it probably makes more sense for them to put cars on their lot that they can actually sell. Perhaps something like that is going on at this dealer...

Dealers will feed you anything to get you to buy something currently on their lot. When I bought my car, I originally wanted black. He made up some complete BS on how black cars are not shipped to the Southwest due to the hot climate, dust, etc. He then walked me over to the huge selection of silver cars they had ON THE LOT.
