17" or 18" which do you get

Post by canadavibegt »

Anyone have thoughts on which size of rim to change to. I purposely got the 16" rims. I knew I would change them....... anyway.......Any good sites for rims that work .............. Not looking at going too extreme would like to stuff at least a 225 or 235 on though. Thanks

I am looking at 17" Enkei 5+ with Nitto 555's. I would get them in 18", but as of right now, they only come in 17". I will probably be getting mine this summer.

Here is a picture from discounttire.com that shows what they think it would look like, although the blue on my Vibe is darker and it is monotone. But good for a close estimate.

a 17" is a 17", and I always believed in OEM product, of higher quality. other than a little weird with the Toyota logo.

quote:I believe we could buy some 17" center caps from Pontiac and maybe they will fit? Otherwise get ahold of GrafxWerks, they made up some stickers or badges for Nova, they could do it for him too.bellwilliam, I still have the factory Vibe aluminum wheels centercaps that should fit the Toyota wheels. I'm not going to use them because they don't fit my Voxx wheels and because Ryan from Grafxwerks made me up some Pontiac arrowheads to use on the Voxx centercaps. If you want them let me know. I'll sell them for half of what I paid plus shipping. They were never on the car and only one was tried to fit the wheel. It was too small so they are all in perfect condition. I can send pics if you are interested and you can check to see if they fit the same way as your Toyota caps.quote:Also, are these aftermarket rims DOT approved?Yes.

I would do it if I were you bellwilliam. Kind of looks strange having a Toyota symbol on your Pontiac. Just my opinion though. Congrats on getting a great deal on the rims though!

here in Southern California, Vibe are very rare, I see about 10-20 Matrix for 1 Vibe. Most people don't even know what car it is. some asked me if it was a Matrix.I paid $400 for wheels/tires, sold mine for $250. The Toyota logo is not prominant as Pontiac, it is of same color.

NovaResource, it's very kind of you to offer, I actually prefer the Toyota logo, it doesn't show at all. thanks.

Since you are in BC why don't you have a look at http://www.tiretrends.com also in British Colombia. I just ordered Montegi Racing MR8, great site and very good prices.

Hey thanks all for the suggestions..... I have actually pondered the idea of going to the Toyota 17"s. Same reasons as stated they are cheap. where i live no one leave a car unmodified for long and there are lots of Matrix's about so I figure there should be all sorts around for cheap. Windows got tinted with a realy nice tint that has a little bronze like mirror finnish. once i get some pics wil post themp.s. could you not just pry the toyota centre cap off and replace it with a poontiac one. (not sure cause have not looked at the Toyota rims closely)
