Well guys im gettin an exhaust system tomorrow, at 2.25 piping the only question remains go with flowmaster or magnaflow, anyone have either one? Im not sure if one is truely better for more power or not? please advise.
Love my magnaflow I dunno how it rates as far as power increases and such, but its noisy enough to make the wife embarrassed and thats good enough for me
I will give testimony on my Magnaflow exhaust. It's all stainless (looks great), and I love the sound with the 2zz engine. While driving normally, it's a little louder than stock, but when you mash the throttle, going through the gears (especially hitting the valve lift), it has a nice deep growl to it that's not too annoying to the wife, but still music to my ears. Plus, when downshifting, makes some nice little "burbles" or "pops" in between shifts that I just love!I've not heard Flowmasters on a Vibe yet, but have driven many other vehicles with Flowmasters, and they tend to resonate at certain rpm's that is most annoying. On long trips (especially freeway driving) your ears will ring for a while after getting out of the car. Here is the link to my article on the installation of this exhaust system, plus dyno gains:http://www.speed-society.com/f...2.php

Thanks iinan. Not to hijack the thread, but my Advanced Composite Specialties hood is killer! It fits like the OE hood, is lighter (fiberglass), came with all of the OE hardware, fittings and rubber seals, has rolled edges, and the scoops are funtional (routes cold air to where my K&N short-ram intake is). And the best part is, to date, I've never seen another one on a Vibe anywhere! Makes mine kinda unique!

I wasn't suggesting buying it from them, it was just an example. They do throw in a free K&N filter or free-flow Cat though. The Borla won't give you the same gains because it is only an axle back system and uses the stock resonator.
True... but i cant spend a whole lot on the exhaust... fiance and finances might not let me... even though they are all around the same... i would get it if anyone close could weld it on for me!!!But i know labor for putting that on at a shop would add another 100 bucks or so... right?

I believe I paid $345 shipped from ptuning when they first came out; it was a special deal at the time.

Although, you'll need a hacksaw to cut the stock pipe right after the cat.
So wouldnt i have to cut the flanges holding the stock muffler on... and how would i put the new ones on...If i do get it withing the next month or so you wanna meet up or i can go out there and put it on so i dont it up!

I'd be happy to help, barring my schedule of course Might want to keep this how-to handy: http://matrixowners.com/forums....html
