Does anybody happen to know which pins in the OBD II connector are actually populated? I'm trying to check to see if the Vibe can access all of the extra data that most GM cars can through their OBD II or if it is connected the same as Toyota (which doesn't provide nearly the same information). I'd check, but the car is in the shop for the weekend and I'd like to purchase soon.Thanks!P.S. An OBD-II connector diagram can be found at http://www.obdii.com/connector.html

Quote, originally posted by engineertwin2 »That's what I'm guessing, but I just wanted to double check before I order the AutoTap with enhanced GM data.Ooh, what's that, where you getting it from, what does it cost, and most importantly, what does it do????

Well, lets see:AutoTap is an "enhanced diagnostics tool." Blah, its an OBD II scanner that can connect to a laptop and allows monitoring of real time data. You can also record for later playback to figure out what exactly went wrong. Oh yeah, it also does basic OBD tool stuff like codes and reset the CEL. I wanted the enhanced GM data, but won't complain if I can't have it.More at http://www.autotap.comIt allows me to monitor the following:A/C System Refrigerant Monitoring Status Auxiliary Input Status Catalyst Monitoring Status Comprehensive Component Monitoring Status ECT EGR System Monitoring Status Engine Load Engine Load Engine Speed EVAP Vent Solenoid Command Evaporative System Monitoring Status Fuel Pressure Fuel System Monitoring Status Fuel System Status Bank 1 Heated Catalyst Monitoring Status IAT Ignition Timing LTFT B1 LTFT B2 MAF MAP Misfire Monitoring Status O2 Sensor - B1S1 O2 Sensor - B1S1 (mV) O2 Sensor - B1S2 O2 Sensor - B1S2 (mV) O2 Sensor - B1S3 O2 Sensor - B1S4 O2 Sensor - B2S1 O2 Sensor - B2S2 O2 Sensor - B2S3 O2 Sensor - B2S4 OBD Requirements Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitoring Status Oxygen Sensor Monitoring Status Secondary Air System Monitoring Status STFT B1 STFT B2 Throttle Position Vehicle Speed But the enhanced data gives torque and SEVERAL other properties. http://www.autotap.com/enhanced_parameters_gm.aspSome other products provide a better looking front end, but I have deduced that this one provides the most bang for the buck.Final cost - $199.95 + shipping.

By the way, I called the dealership and found out (had the tech call them out to me on the phone) the following pins are connected:2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16Pin 7 is the ISO-K Line and Pin 15 is the ISO-L line, which Toyota uses.GM uses the J1850 protocol, which is pins 2 and 10. Pin 10 is the primary J1850 protocol, but pin 2 is the J1850+ protocol, so I'm hoping that the enhanced data can be accessed through pin 2.*crosses fingers*

FWIW, if anyone cares to know, the Vibe uses ISO protocol. Autotap is freakin' sweet - dynos soon to follow. Word has it that the enhanced data for Toyota and Honda will be available by the end of the year.Sweeet.
