You can't put on larger tires. It is recommended that you go no bigger than 3% larger. 205/60/16 is about 3% bigger than 205/55/16 the stock size. It would not make any difference appearance wise. Lowering is the only choice. You could go with coil-over springs which are adjustable for height ($1,100.00) or air bag suspension (big bags of bucks). Tein S-Tech lowering springs are about $130.00 delivered.
Even with 18" wheels, it's recommended you stay within 3% of the stock diameter. All you'd be doing by going with a larger wheel is decreasing the amount of sidewall on the tire to stay within that 3% of overall diameter. You'd have the look of more wheel filling your gap rather than rubber, but overall, you'd have the same gap.Your only solution is to lower.
