I didn't know they were this close to arriving.... I guess I haven't been paying attention. But sure enough, even in the midwest, they'll be here probably by the end of next year according to this...Looking at the vehicles in the pictures, not bad. But I have to say, taking a look at the pictures on their site of the current lineup, yow! We could have bought crap that looked like this in 1992, with the exception of the SUV and the bubbly, round little microcar thingy. The specs on these cars are downright bizarre... When I was looking at the features for couple of models, it was clear that safety takes a back seat. "Spare tire for safety," for instance, must be purely one of those luxury items because it's not available on some of the lower trim levels. I guess if you're stupid enough to want to waste your money on something so senseless, you're deserve to pay extra for the upgraded model. This is going to be interesting for sure... They have a rough road ahead of them, they're going into one hell of a picky market.

Please. please please DO NOT buy any of these chinese cars.Buy something, ANYTHING that was made in a plant in the US or Canada.Your neighbours helped to assemble it, or made parts for it.The Chinese manufacturers are poised and ready to overrun the North American AND World economies with automotive and other products. They build the cars by paying their employees pennies per hour, and the money STAYS in CHINA to support their economy.Taxes and tariffs and import rules effectively prevent sales of North American vehicles and products in China.Yes, the cars are cheap, but if none of us have jobs to pay for them, then what?Just my opinion.

Number 1: This is Malcolm Bricklin's brainchild, isn't it? This is from the same guy that brought us the Yugo, and you expect it to succeed? Why? Number 2: It's true that we aren't playing on a level playing field with the Chinese, but we did the same thing to most of the world 100 years ago when we managed to become one of the biggest industrial producers in the world by making things cheaper than everyone else (economies of scale and poor treatment of employees). WE CANNOT FIGHT CHINA. They're just doing what we did; it's something of a historical cycle that, every so often, one country loses the dominance they had over the rest of the world and somebody else rises to take their place. If we want to be short sighted by clamoring for boycotts of Chinese products, fine. But they will make their way into our markets no matter what we do. What if we set up a trade agreement with China? That way, we can force our way into their market (which is not entirely closed) and get something out of their increasing encroachment into foreign markets.
