I have only taken my Vibe to the dealer for a warranty claim at 35k miles. Therefore, it did not matter. Now at 87k miles, I still have not performed anything more than oil change, air filter replacement, tire replacement.
i got that line from my dealer at my 6 month period. i figured "why not?" and brought it in. for almost 6 months after that my life was hell. they managed to screw up so much that i've spend a couple hundred dollars and time at a good local shop to fix their doings.they have called me on occasion to remind me about my 'scheduled visit' to which i've told them how i feel...they never enter that into their call log as i still get the calls.never again...only goes to my local shop and the job gets done correctly.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
Just because you hate your dealer is no excuse not to perform the services it requires. As long as you have proof you performed them, warranty can not be denied due to lack of maintenance.

Why would you not "follow the maintenance schedule to the T"? For the first 60,000 miles all you have to do is regularly change the oil & filter and rotate the tires and those services are not required to be done at a dealer. Following the maintenance schedule to the "T" is cheap compared to the price of a new or late model used car.
Once you get to 60,000, people around here still haven't followed the maintenance schedule. How many here have actually had the valve clearance inspection/adjustment done? Um, NONE that I know of. Myself included, but that's because I decline to spend a large sum of money on a car that I won't own in a few months.

Checking valve clearance just goes with the territory when you don't have hydraulic lifters. Could be worse, my motorcycle also has a DOHC I4 and the owners manual says run the valves every 6000 miles. Oh, but it runs so sweet after that (10.49 1/4 mile).
I have done the oil changes and filters but the brake service, power steering flush, injector cleaning.....they try to scare you to get this stuff done....in my mind its a joke....the brake service is the biggest scam going. I have seen many people get suckerd in waiting in line. I believe one big reason the GM is loosing market share is the horrible expereinces that people have at the dealerships...I dont know how many times I have heard people say that they like certain GM models, vibe included but go for the imports and matrix instead. I have taken my vibe to toyota dealer for non warrenty work and was impressed.

But at a toyota dealer along with having them change the belt and inspect hoses. They didn't have to make an adjustment, they apparently just sis an aural inspection. Didn't notice anything unusual so they didn't adjust.I don't take my Vibe in for Oil & Filter changes. I do that every 5k myself along with lubing hinges, hood latch and such as well. Dave
I'm only at 30,000KM myself on my 04... Not much to do other then the injector flush which I'll have done before I start hitting the track this summer.

i change my oil every 3000rotate every 6000replace air filter as needed (@21000)inspected diff fluid (24,000)I look over belts and hoses and other fluids every oil.Every Oil I run a bottle of Chveron Techron Consentrate and next gas fill-up.This Maint. schedule has been followed on all my vehicles. plus what the book calls for.My cavy is due for a lot of routine maint work this spring:new beltFlush-fill RadFlush-fill Trannymaybe new brakes and tires. It only has 35,000 miles, but is 5 years old.Vibe will needFlush-Fill Rad.and maybe a Trany-Flush fill a tad early...Vibe at 26000 now. want a trany flush fill @ 30,000. I'd prefer to do most my-self, but the landlord forbids doing fluid work in their parking lots. So I go to a shop Not the dealer and keep the recepits. Or I will do some work my-self when visiting my father-in-law, who happens to be a good shade-tree mechanic.

No thanks, even though mine are severly out of whack..well maybe you can get them to do an aural inspection for less. The real procedure calls for some amount of disassembly and actual measurement. Hell, I do an aural inspection of my valve clearances every time I change the oil. It's on my list of things to do, along with replaciong the serpentine belt as a preventative step, since I'm over 100K miles, but am waiting for a bit warmer weather.
These are toyotas they dont ever need the hood to be lifted up on them.......LOL.HAHAHAHAHA....oh wow that was funny...(picking myself up of the floor).......at least that is what CR wants u to believe.
