OVerall cost of owning springs/shocks vs coilovers

Post by GoLowDrew »

On my Honda, I only had to replace the shocks twice (with HR Sports). Total cost spent $1200. Do coilovers last long as a pair of shocks? or longer?

I don't know of anyone blowing a coilover and if I have it was only once, but at the same time I don't recall hearing more than once of someone blowing a strut/shock either which could have been from numerous things. Basically, unless you AutoX or need to adjust your ride height at random, then you might as well save your money and go with just swapping springs. Just my $0.02

well, not so much blowing them out, but normal wear. Mine leak before they go really bad.
