New Video

Post by JustinVGT »

I thought I'd post a video. I recently got some work done to my GT. I had a local tuner that specializes in the 2ZZ do some modifications that I can't discuss quite yet. Check out my video, it's awesome. http://media.putfile.com/Justi...-mods Let me know what you think.

any idea what your topspeed was like there? my buddy one time put a webcam to capture video hooked up to his laptop... and he mounted it right behind the drivers seat but i bet you could probably find a way to mount it off the passengers seat headrest so that it would be able to read your dash gauges

Hi everyone,Okay, that video was a joke . I’ve been meaning to get some video clips for a long time and finally got around to it yesterday when I drove to the car wash. To mount the camera, I just between the headrest and the top of the seat, it held in place perfectly. Next time I might see if I can adjust the seat and camera for a better view. I took a couple of clips, each was 2-3 minutes long. I then used the Windows Movie Maker to edit the videos. This was my first time using it and when I was making my first clip, I saw there were video effects. Tested some out and saw the double speed effect. I was impressed that it looked so realistic and sounded awesome. So, I applied that to the entire clip and posted it. I also made a legit clip which I could not get hosted last night and I’ve been swamped at work all morning, so now I’m updating it. Here is the real clip: http://media.putfile.com/Justins-Vibe-GT You will hear some vibration which is not the exhaust. I have some plastic trim vibrating in the front passenger seat area and is annoying at certain rpms and you can hear it in the clips. I know I loved watching peoples’ clips posted, especially when they have modifications to hear the difference, so I thought I’d put mine in. In this clip you will see/hear regular and hard driving to get an idea of different driving conditions. Now, I’ll just respond to the posts:Joholste,In each clip I got up to around 65 mph and then slowed down to 45-50 mph. I don’t think I’d be able to get a view of the gauges from the passenger seat. It’s already hard to see down the gauges tubes from there and plus they would probably be too small to read from the low resolution video at that distance. What I need is to mount it on my chest. That may be more level with the gauges and still see over the dash. Yeah it does sound like a motor cycle or an indy car! I took it up to 8200-8300 rpm in 1st and 2nd gear in each clip. Too bad our cars really aren’t that fast! If that clip were real, I think that would be a 0-60 time of around 3.5 seconds! I’m estimating that since our 0-60 times are roughly 7 seconds, but since doubled, ~3.5 seconds. I enjoy watching the unreal clip over and over too, it just sounds/looks so awesome.

Quote, originally posted by Merzbow »Borla is even deeper although not quite as loud I'm not sure how loud the Borla is, but I do think the Magnaflow cat-back system is a little loud. It's not too loud, but before I bought it, I didn't get to hear it in person. I only had read what people said and heard posted clips. Many people said it wasn't much louder than stock. I disagree and think it is much louder than stock. When I have guests in my car that aren't used to it, they think it's loud. During acceleration it is loudest and it can be hard to hear people if talking normal during accelerations. When cruising about 3k+ rpm there is some droning which I don't think is too bad, but on long trips it can get annoying. In that clip I didn't get any cruising in the 60-70 mph range which it gets louder and even more so in the 70-80 range which I rarely get into except on road trips. I might try to get some higher speed clips next time I go to my boat since right now it's a 2 hour drive with some open highways. Hopefully that will be this weekend. Oh yeah and in two weeks I'll be down in Destin, FL probably driving my Vibe unless my friend drives his car.Later,

When you say "Get ready for lift", is it when the sound changed suddenly in pitch at the beginning of the clip when you're hard on the throttle ?

I watched the clip again and I'm pretty sure lift kicked in right before I went under the traffic lights. You can hear me mash the throttle before I make it under the light (no lift yet), you really hear the intake open up, but then you can hear the change when lift kicks in around the light and beyond.
