New Carpeted floormats: different for each Vibe?!

Post by CaCathy13 »

I called my dealership to order another set of carpet floormats, a nicer salt free set for the warmer months since mine now are scuzzed up.The parts guy at the dealer said he could order me a set...but they were only for AWD and I have a GT. So, is there a difference in the floorplan of the Vibes? I thought the floormats would all be universal....?? Any help from the AWD folks?

From what I understand, there must be a difference in the floor in the front. When I ordred my rubber mats for the winter, which I would highly recommend, there were different part numbers for the Base/GT or AWD. There must be a difference in the shape.Out of curiosity, how much are a set of the carpeted mats?

I called my salesperson to inquire about it and he told me that the floormats are all the same....but maybe the AWD has stitching on it or something. He was gonna check with the parts guy again and find out what the deal is....why can't they just go out to a AWD on the lot and tell me? Ugh!!! Ugh....could this be any harder?!?! Maybe I should just clean my Vibe mats and buy some ones from Pepboys for winter...would make things a whole lot easier. I just didn't wanna go through cleaning the mats with a wetvac....but now it's starting to look appealing.I think the parts guy told me they were the same as the vinyl ones in price....

I believe the rear floor mats are different because the rear floor in the AWD is designed differently than the Base/GT due to the AWD system for the rear wheels.

Hmmm...well if that's all it is I'll just get front mats. No one is hardly ever in the backseat anyway, and I don't have kids or anything.I just wish someone would know these things at the dealer, ya know?? Or would be willing to find out the answer asap....I mean, how hard is it to go to the AWD Vibe and look inside and then compare the mats to the GT?? I'm half tempted to leave work and go do it myself...I just don't want to order these and end up with AWD stitched into it...I didn't realize ordering floormats would be so damn complicated!

My AWD came with carpet mats, stitched with Vibe... no AWD or anything.I just put a set of "Pantsaver" car mats right over top of mine... pretty good fit around the dead pedal.I'm sure I got a Vibe brochure that had mats & the hood deflector & other stuff in it ... I'll see if I can find it, and maybe there are part #s.

I like the Dart and Vibe stitching on it though...After calling yet another 2 dealerships to find out the answer....I called the Pontiac customer line to inquire about it. They called the dealership I bought the car from (the 1st place I called) and was able to get the info outta them....they can order the mats for the GT but no price yet and no ETA. How hard was that for christ sakes??? I'm still debating on cleaning the mats now and getting aftermarket ones for next winter....dunno yet though. I've thought about floormats enough for one day!

The Vinyl ones are 45 for the front and 40 for the back.I'm still thinking about just cleaning my mats....I just didn't wanna deal with that though. We shall see.

We shall see.Cleaning the existing mats is alot cheaper.. but the rubber mats are nice for the winter slush. You can buy the mats cheaper from P&G Chevy (website) as follows:Front (All): Part # 12498110 - $36.22Rear (Base/GT): Part # 12498111 - $32.20Rear (AWD): Part # 12498155 - $32.20I know a few members here have dealt with them and had no problems. It will save you a few bucks.. once you figure in shipping. Check them out.

I bought my cargo mat through them and it was a smooth transaction. Can you buy new carpeted floor mats? How much are those?

Its still early in the auction - I bet the go up significantly by the end. Just like the other post about the cargo mats - they started low, but people bid them up.

Finally found that brochure... no floor mats, but it does list the ski carrier, workstation, bike carrier, venvisors, hood protector, cargo mat, seatback storage & backpack. Anyone have the hood protector? I saw one on a Matrix at the dealership & thought it looked sharp!

quote:GM made a printing error and it shows the part number to be a Montana Hood Defector.Well that's dumb. I wonder if the Matrix hood deflector would fit the Vibe? How easy would it be to get the Matrix decal off?
