Found my BUZZ

Post by jasonvibe »

I found the passanger side buzz in my new Vibe. Just above the passnager's feet there are 2 push pins below the glove box that hold the lower dash to each side of the "engine control unit". These pins can be loose and allow the lower dash to buzz. I pushed one pin back and put a dab of silicone sealer where the dash meets the bracket of the ECU. Then pushed it back in watching the silicone ooozzz out. I also solved the noise from shield covering the gas tank using sealer as well. It used to make a ding sound whenever a rear door was closed. The whole unit is like a tuning fork. But in my case just a mm away from the tank strap.

Congrats! Chasing noises down is very hard! Thanks for sharing... I have developed a 6th sense for it too...

the only other buzz I have is well above 4000rpm. It's in the center def vent or overhead light. But I don't usually run it that high.

You have my undying gratitude...I had the exact same problem with the "under the glove box buzz." it was driving me crazy, and I was looking in the wrong area to see if I could find the problem. Pushed the pin in, and the buzz disappeared!!Thank you!!
