Latest News from GM!

Post by Shadow Realm »

I just talked to the parts dept here at my dealership and they have informed me that GM is still finishing the part numbers on the sports package. They also said that they will be able to be sold as a package or individually for each piece. I don't know anything else as of yet, but this is promising that you can purchase everything alacarte. For example you should be able to buy just the top or the bottom spoiler without having to buy both....etc.As soon as I get more information I will post back. Thanks Shadow Realm

I agree. The top spoiler would be nice. I wonder how it help deflect the air around the back of the car. It might help keep some of dirt and misting water off of the rear window. The top spoiler is what I am definately looking at because I don't like the way the front and rear pieces cover some of the designs in the molding that are already there. And I don't think the rocker panels would look right without those bumper pieces on. Just my opinion though.

Can't wait to get the top spoiler, I'm also hoping it keeps the back window somewhat cleaner, it looks good too.

I did a "build my own vibe" last night at GM canada's website and they had the sports package listed there as well as the spoilers seperately. I think the total package was over $3000 CDN.

That's pretty cool that it is offered on Canada's site. Not even an option yet on the US site. I wonder if you will be able to order a Vibe with just on of the parts or if you have to get the whole thing?

When I tlaked to the GM rep over the phone he said that they would be available seperately. Aparentely he was wrong or maybe that it's just not available that way yet. I hope that the later statement is the right one If not, I hope that somone comes out with an aftermarket one soon. I'm not paying the high price from GM for Two spoilers when I only want the top one anyway.

LOL I find this funny - we can't get our cars up here in a decent amount of time, but heck we can order the sports package for it! Probably its offered on the Canadian site and not the US, since its going to take forever to get your Vibe up here anyway.

You can only order the whole package. I don't think this has anything to do with getting individual items after you already have your Vibe. I was also told by my dealer that the items would be available seperately. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

So does this mean that I could purchse the steel exhaust tip seperately too? I'm leasing my car, so I plan on asking the sales rep if I can add on parts through GM (i.e. the top spoiler, steel exhaust tips, etc.) I hope I can, I LOVE the way the exhaust tip looks!!

that spoiler mounted below the back glass in similar to sube's and some mazda models (323 turbo hatch)....i guess it would be handy to set things on as you load thru your glass...cant be as bad as those basket handle shaped aluminum wings that some of these street jockeys have on the back of their accords and galants, must be so they can find them in the parking lots at McD's or at school

We will just have to wait and see I guess.Of course they'll be available separately! If somebody has these on their car and gets in a wreck they aren't going to have to purchase a whole new kit to replace one damaged part. When I wanted to add the spolier from the new 1991 "sport package" to my 1988 Festiva the dealer told me it was only available by ordering it on a new car too. They'd rather have you trade-in so they can sell you another new car. I laughed at him, walked backto the service/parts counter and within 20 minutes the service manager had looked up each individual part number and had it on order for me. I had one on my car before that dealer had even sold a new car with one factory installed!Nevermind the sales people - the service/parts people are your friend!

The service people ... well there'll always be another car to fix. Trying to get the issues resolved with my Vibe, I feel that the service people are hiding behind GM burocracy (sp?), while the sales folks are like, "just give her a new one!"

that's because it doesn't take a rocket scientist (just some good sales & PR knowledge) to know that a happy customer will buy from you again, and recommend your dealership to their friends. On the same note, when you get crappy service, everybody knows about it, but there will still be those few die-hards who's minds can't be changed, and will continue to go to a certain place for service (most likely because the coffee is good).

no uniform. when i ordered it, it was by phone, they said it was like $52. when i picked it up a week later they said it was $60 something, thats when they cut me a deal. i am assuming they must have a mark up or maybe a special order fee, i dont know.
