I thought the same when I read it, although the writer would probably refer to the Toyota Corolla sedan as essentially the four-door version.

Dash

I really like the outside of this car, but that dash looks terrible to me.

yeah the interior is plretty stark. the rear cargo space looks just like a vibe. cool in-dash (in-glove compartment) drink holder, though

that car is such a rip-off of the vibe. the overall shape is almost the same, the shifter position is dead on the same, the cargo area is the same. as for dodge in general, why would you replace your cheap-o 4-door neon with a cheap-o wagon?? and who told them that the durango look was a good one, cuz a lot of there cars/trucks are getting that look.

Chrysler (Dodge) seems to be the only "American" car company making any money. Of course, how do you define "American" these days.

the styling of chryslers and dodge aren't the best, but their fit and finish has vastly improved. if anything, mitsubishi made the vibe 15 years ago. they called it... i don't know. someone please?

Maybe you're talking about the Mitsubishi Mirage AWD Wagon (it was taller than the regular hatchback). I think it had an "Expo" designation/decal too.

Perhaps as a neon replacemenet, the reviewer thinks it should also come as a sedan. Vibe still beats it on MPGs

It had one right side sliding door - like a minivan. They were all discontinued after 1995. Mitsubishi also made one that was a little larger that had four doors like a regular car plus the hatchback.

Yeah, they called it the "expo" in the U.S. They also marketed it as the Dodge Colt Vista Wagon. http://auto.consumerguide.com/...0217/I saw a caliber yesterday with Michigan tags (manufacturer). Did'nt look too bad in person. No thanks though.

Had a 2.4L, AT but no remote entry or power windows. Cost me about $13,500 new plus tax which is about what I paid for my better equipped 2003 Vibe after discounts and rebates. My then 24 yr old son totaled that Vista Wagon soon after I gave it to him in Aug. 2000 hitting a concrete post in a parking garage while answering a cell phone call. He wasn't hurt and I think the transmission was going so it probably was about to be mechanically totaled anyway. My guess is that it had about 80,000 miles. Insurance settlement after $500 ded was $4,200. More than I thought is was worth.
