Mavrik's Vibe almost takes another hit

Post by Mavrik »

What is it with people really? I got practicly run off the road into a snowbank/chrystler dealership front row thanks to a couple old people who don't remember how to drive worth a crap. I'm making a left turn which has two turn lanes. I'm in the outside turn lane and they are in the inside turn lane. We're both first in the line. Light turns green and we go. I'm actually in the lead here taking the turn into my lane and what does the old lady do? Floors it and cuts me OFF? I slam on the brakes because I see her about to broadside me and no way can I be convinced she didn't see me sitting there. Daylight, bright ORANGE Vibe beside her a whole 5 mins before we even got the light. And she had to floor it to pass me and cut me off.I hit the horn (all the good that mouse squeaker does) downshift to first and take off behind her so not to get rear ended by the line of traffic turning behind me. I was so close to either hitting her or sliding into the snowbank and a row of parked cars. Luckly my car decided to act as though the pavement was dry and not icy.Oh and the old couple were driving a Subaru... where do they turn in? You guessed it... right into my work place at the Subaru dealership. They got out and walked right into service. Well you can guess who I'm NOT helping today. The Vibe is fine but man... (removed)? Old people need to take the bus.

put a statement on their paperwork that says something like "Its not wise to run the guy off the road who is about to fix your car"

yes, we don't need 2 claims on the insurance in a 2 week time frame! although, it would have been their fault..... i'd have helped them still ... helped them "fix" their car.

yes, or they are on ice.... just because they have awd, doesn't mean winter tires aren't needed, isn't that right? and in the weather recently, it wouldn't matter if they had awd or rwd! no stopping on these ice roads! although, my new blizzaks are really kick *ss! unless it's solid ice, i can whiz in and out of traffic again! :D whee!

bubblyWell the couple left hours ago so the chances of me "running" into them later on my trip home from lunch is unlikely. But thats the second time I've been cut off by lane changers making left or right turns. I mean... hello BRIGHT ORANGE VIBE! How hard is that to miss? Real hard to hit since I drive defensive but still come on. Had they hit me this morning I would have just plowed them down the street to do as much damage as posible since this would be their fault. Write off my canadian car and get something else lol my old room mate always say to write it off if you wreck it.

So I'm curious... how many cups of coffee did you have to drink to thoroughly wet their seats? JM

defense driving is always a good thing, especially up here! gotta look on your left, right, and rearview! however, if you're stuck then you're just SOL!and yes, if you're gonna get hit, try and total that sucker out! then that alleviates the problem of being upside down on the car. we have GAP insurance on the thing! lol. as long as it's their fault, just don't hurt yourself!

Well I almost wrote the car off coming back to work. So here I am slowing down to turn into the parkinglot to get back to work when I see this big huge furry thing coming my way. I'm already looking to the right because thats where I was about to turn and there is this big ol moose trotting across the parkinglot about 5 feet from my car and headed my way. His head is up and he jumps the snowbank between myself and him. If course I saw him coming so instead of slowing down (defensive driving tip number 2) I floored it decided against turning. Sure enough he lands on the snow covered sidewalk and stumbles out to were I had been seconds before.I got proof of this because the moose had been running around the dealership parking lot so everyone was outside and saw me dodge the moose and turn into the second lot driveway instead.Man people have it out for the pumpkin today... I'm afraid to drive home lol... That moose would have totaled my car with me in it.

No wonder they discontinued Fusion(Sunburst) Orange. It's too 'moose friendly'!
