Expect the 2007 Caliber SRT to appear some six months after the standard version of the car, most likely toward the end of 2006. As Dodge plans on starting the Caliber in the $15,000 range, expect the SRT version of the hatchback to run along the same lines as the Neon SRT-4 in the low $20,000s.This hot hatchback will be powered by a SRT-tuned version of the 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine developed with Hyundai and Mitsubishi. The tweaked version of this new global engine will probably place the Caliber SRT's output in the neighborhood of 235 horsepower.
I wouldn't honestly expect low $20,000's for this at least not really low. Probably around $25 to start. The R/T starts around $19,000. Still, I like it. Can't wait to see one in person.
If the Caliber SRT-4 came with an AWD version, that would be my next vehicle. highly doubt that will happen though.Mr. Rich, where did you get that picture from?

I really like the looks of the Caliber. I just wish the interior didn't look so shotty. That has to be one of the worst looking interiors I have ever seen in a car.
I'm trying to figure out what's the big deal here... It's only the equivalent of 2.31 of these super powerful 1zz's under the hood when taking horsepower into consideration. Way to go, Dodge. Giving the Caliber some nads seems to have changed people's tune about the thing.

Cool, talking about a different car but apparently the same engine... I've been wondering about Hyundai's 2.4 Theta that showed up in the '06 Sonata... I didn't know for sure if it was related to the 2.4 World engine, but from what I've read thus far, they seem to be the same engine! This engine seems to have plenty of potential there... In the Sonata it is 162 HP, 164 lb/ft of torque, and look what they can turn it in to... That thing has some potential...
