I was looking at upgrading the 5.25 and 6.5" speakers when I get my Vibe. Here are the ones I'm looking at:http://www.futureshop.ca/catal...catid= ... catid=Does anyone have these speakers? Impressions? What mounting depth should I be looking for so that they fit behind the stock grill and don't interfere with the power windows?
2006 Vibe (base) - Platinum Silver, 5 spd, ABS, Power Package, Infinity Speakers, Dynomax muffler, Cosmo SR intake - SOLD
In my opinion, you'd be better off getting some Ininiti's at Circuit City for around $99 a pair.. MTX is okay, but since they became more 'mainstream' they aren't the unknown powerhouse they used to be.Rear speakers you don't need to be worried about depth, for the front, you've got at least 2-13/16" if you mount it to the stock speaker ring.

What year is your vibe I got a 2005 with the base 4 speaker stereo system and I was wondering if the 5 1/4 JL's will fit in my car, when I looked on Best Buy's website it says my car has 6 1/2's?
wondering myself if 6.5"s will fit in the vibe doors. those speaker grills look good i wanted to go with the type r 6.5"S - also nice grills... as far as i know (word of mouth) 6.5"s will fit - but only one way to be sure

6.5" does fit and I run 6.5" midbass in all doors, but depending on the speaker depth you will need to build out some sort of trim ring. "Most" 6.5" speakers would hit the glass when the window is down without a mounting ring...the "shallow" speakers, for me anyway, do not offer enough physical space to allow the necessary "throw" for the midbass response to be strong enough. So I had to with a more standard 3" mounting depth driver that would give the response I was looking for. Which required a mounting plate of .875" thick and still clears under the factory grill.
