photo of Ipod in Vibes

Post by ex-freelander »

Hello there, just traded my Freelandercrap for a 05 Vibe. Its a nice looking car. Drives great too! I was just reading and browsing in this forum for pics of Ipods in the Vibes and do not see any. I would love to see it so I can get some idea where to put the ipod. Thanks. David

i keep mine in that little box under the shifter... i have a monster cable tuner/charger with the wires tucked under the center consol so just the red lighted tuner is facing up and the pod in the pop open compartment (the cable fits on the side when you close it )

i have a itrip and a ipod mini. i leave the belt clip on the ipod at all times so i just put it in the rectangle slot cliped to the cup holder.

Here's my space age, ultra high tech mounting system for the iPod. It just props up against my voltmeter that I keep plugged into the lighter. The cheap CompUSA rubbery case is rather grippy so it stays put nicely. I do try to hang on to it if I have to make hard right turns though. It really works well if I lay it on its side, plug in the cable, and connect the charger to the inverter. It can't move in this configuration.I need a better way but with the way the interior is with this car, there are few options available... And besides that, the iTrip really only works well if I have it right there immediately below the radio. If I put it anywhere else, I start getting static.

Colonel, your solution is very similar to mine. It's interesting that your itrip only works in close proximity to the head unit. I've got one of the older ones without the display, and i'm static free inside the under-shifter compartment with the door closed. Works fine, since I run the 'pod (4g) on shuffle most of the time anyway. turn it on and forget it.I am, however, going to steal your solution for getting the AC adapter to fit the dash outlet...off to the hardware store.-chuck
