Upper Spoiler Installed

Post by bh357 »

I finally got around to installing my upper spoiler this evening. Tomorrow Hopefully I'll be installing the mid spoiler. It went on quite easily, and looks nice. I'd definately recommend having someone help with the alignment.I'll try to post some photos tomorrow.

Cool, did you get the one from ebay? I got my midgate there and want the top now even though I didn't before. The midgate is a PITA! Good luck and have someone help you.

yeah, if you can' post up a play by play of the midgate install? I've been wanting to do one for my Vibe but might have to open my pocket to pay someone else to fight with it.

Not much to it, you just line it up with the plastic tabs in the holes, then you tape down the tabs and remove the spoiler. Drill the holes through the tabs into the gate, and the screws come from the inside of the hatch into the holes in the spoiler. The outside holes (frathest left and right, near the edges of the hatch) are the hardest to get the screws tightened into. Just tighten all 4 screws and you're good! You just have to make sure you have it lined up right the first time!

Looks Nice...I can't wait to get one. I am trying to decide what mods I want to do with my tax returns. It will either be the the upper spoiler, front fenders and S-techs or a wheel/tire package.

I just finished installing the mid spoiler. The most difficult part of that install was lining up the outboard upper screws. I had to fish the driver side one out of the liftgate about a dozen times before I finally found the hole. The upper spoiler install was very easy. Be sure to watch how far forward you locate it (I believe it's 40mm). If you are too far forward, or off center, the spoiler may contact the rack endcap when you open the liftgate. This only occurs when you open the liftgate with the glass already open.Edit: I'll take some photos a bit later today, with the Vibe outside.

Looks like your mid spoiler is all one piece?

Hmmm...maybe I'll get both! That looks awesome...Does anyone have the upper one installed with out the roof racks on? About what is the angle on the pillars that support to spoiler?

Thanks for all the positive feedback on this.I haven't seen one without the roofrack installed. It should look nice without the crossbars, but I don't think it would look that good without the side rails. The spoiler is cut out to clear the side rail endcap when the hatch is opened, and I feel that this would look out of place without the side rails.

I Just purchased the dual spoiler set from my work. I'm not going to use the mid. You'll see it on ebay within a week or so with a crazy low reserve, and an even crazier starting prce. Keep your eyes open next week for it!!!!!

I posted the spoiler on ebay. It is brand new and still bolted to the box it came in. Looks sweet, but just not for me I guess.
