just bought a vibe a week ago and just stumbled on this site. i'll admit i know nothing about cars but would appreciate some ideas on how to give it a little oomph. i already have my deck and audio from old car and definitely need to tint the windows but thats the extent of my plans so far.
welcome to GV and this is a world of Vibe info just waiting for you to explore. Cheap "oomph" mods would be a cold air intake and an exhaust from the converter back. Or as we call it... cat-back exhaust modifications. It will give you a little bit more power on take off and what not. Its nothing to serious and expensive. Most people here have at least changed those out.

welcome. as for oomph, first thing i suggest is a cold air intake, then possibly an exhaust to compliment it. if you really want to add more oomph, then perhaps a unichip or other engine management upgrade. what kind of vibe do you have? base or gt? i doubt you would need an AWD in FL.
If you want power at all RPM without more noise than the Unichip is the way to go but higher octane is required. Cheapest is intake for about 6 hp and some noise but don't expect any improvement below 3k rpm with an intake and maybe a small loss of low torque. Exhaust isn't cost efective unless you like the sound.

About 10 hp but it feels like more because the response is better at all rpms and the greatest gains aren't always at the top. The cost is an issue. About $700 and not really cost effective but when I had my gt I couldn't live without it as it really transformed the low end and midrange. On a base I think it may be overkill without other mods.

HelloA big carbon fiber spoiler on the roof will give you a descent amount of power. HAHA....j/k.Actually nitrous or forced induction are probably the only things to get you a good amount of power from this car. You could get cams for $900 and get like 5%(6hp) increase in power...not worth it in my eyes. A performance header will do absolutely nothing, exhaust barely gives you anything. Cold air intake is probably your best bet.
i have a base model vibe and just got the Cold Air Intake installed and it adds quite a bit of oomph to the car. trust me and everyone else.heres a pic of the Cold Air Intake
