Got my iPod for Christmas and have been busy loading it up, but can't listen to it in the car. Jim (the b/f) was going to wire up an FM modulator for me but in checking around found this, and decided I'd be much happier with it, so he bought it for me. I go in Saturday morning before work at my p.t. job to get it installed--I can't WAIT!http://www.peripheralelectroni...r.asp
Well, not that anyone cares, but I got the Peripheral iPod2car installed Saturday, and so far I love it. It charges my iPod while I'm listening, and I can control it from either the iPod itself or my car stereo. Jim and I need to come up with a way to mount it so I can see it better while driving. It came with a mount but it was pretty cheesy so we're going to try and rig up something better. So until then it's just been sitting in the passenger seat or down in that little tray by the cup holders. He rigged it so the cable comes out the little cubby under the shifter--that darn thing never stays shut anyway, so that's just fine. I can tuck the cable in there and it's out of the way. The sound is awesome--no static at all since it isn't an FM modulator. I haven't really been out on the road--just drove to and from work this weekend, but so far it's really cool!
Cool!Controlling it from the HU seems like it'd be real handy. Can't beat a direct sound input to the HU; FM modulators aren't much cheaper or any easier to install anyhoo. Enjoy it!

Very cool! Glad to hear you got it installed and working great.I have been using a FM transmitter for a while without any problems so far. But, I pretty much stay in the Twin Cities Metro area so all the radio signals are very strong and I don't have any static. Congrats!

So far so good. I can't wait for my first road trip to the Cities--although when I get close enough to start getting decent radio stations I always turn off my cds and listen to Cities 97 to try and hear some NEW music. SFSD is HORRIBLE about playing anything new and decent, so I have to go up there to hear anything new! I can see up there you wouldn't have a problem with signals, but here....different story. I have an FM transmitter for here at my desk and even that gets staticky sometimes, and it's just sitting here. So I can't WAIT until the Mac store here gets some black iHome alarm clocks so I can get one of those. This iPod habit is expensive!
