Does the 2006 Vibe have programmable power door locks?

Post by etd »

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does the 2006 Vibe have programmable power door locks with the automatic transmission? This feature is listed on the Pontiac website, yet I can't find any instructions regarding this feature in the 2006 Vibe Owner's Manual. I want to disable the automatic unlocking feature that takes place when the vehicle is turned off. Thanks for your help!

(But I wouldn't stake my life on it ) I vaguely recall someone else with a 2006 trying to find info on this. Dunno why they would've taken it out of the manual.Anyway, you can get the instructions from the 2005 Owner's Manual which you can get as a PDF in the following thread:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1010

Any idea how to program the 08 model? I looked up the 05 procedure, but the interior light switch does not have the "door"setting on it, so I assume that this has changed from the 05 to the 08 model. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the 05 instructions will work on the 06 locks... I have a printed copy of the instructions (and the ones to shut of that *@%#@$*&% seatbelt beep) in my glovebox incase the battery gets disconnected for service.I know if the battery gets disconnected, the seatbelt code will need to redone, but I don't know if the locks revert to factory settings.I LOVE CHEATCODES FOR MY CAR =D

Boomer, what settings does your dome light have? Maybe give the instructions a try at each dome light setting?

On the '08 models, the dome light control is on the actual overhead light, not the instument panel switch. Do I just need to turn the dome light switch to "door" instead of the instrument panel switch? I will give the '05 procedure a try and post the results.

Good luck, the timing can be a bit tricky.

In the instructions for the '05, it says to turn the lamp control dial to the "door" position, but the '08 does not have this setting on the dial. It is just a high-to-low dimmer. The switch that is on the dome light itself has a switch with 3 settings: ON/OFF/DOOR.I followed the instructions printed in the '05 manual, and instead of having to adjust the dimmer switch, you just have to make sure the dome light switch is in the "DOOR" position. It does work!

yes, that's the switch they're talking about, not the dimmer dial. You're right though, the 05 instructions make it sound like there should be a switch saying DOOR next to the steering wheel. How strange Glad it worked!
