Engine description from owners manual

What is the difference between the 1.8 L (L) and the 1.8 L (8) motors? The manual shows two different oil fluid levels for these two types.

The *8 is the base engine .The L is the GT. Look at the 8th character in the VIN. It is the engine code. 8= base engine .

I am sure about this. The VIN # says it all. Look at the 8th character. If it an" 8" its base engine . If its an "L" its the GT. Look on page 5-89 and 5-97 of your manual.
