Somewhat funny Vibe story

Post by Sputnik »

My bf and I went to the theater last night to see Daredevil and we actually were able to park quite close to the doors. We came out from the movie and the windchill was pretty strong so we were hunched into our coats and I looked up and I saw a silver Vibe so we start walking towards it. I was thinking, I knew we parked close, but I didn't realize we were that close, but oh well! At the same time my bf is trying to unlock it with the remote entry and nothing is happening. Just then I saw the plates and realized Hey this isn't our Sputnik!! So I grab my bf and keep walking saying "thats not our Vibe!" It was a Vibe GT with snow tires. Its funny because we hardly ever see vibes, let alone one the same colour, in the same row in the same parking lot!

Isn't there a car commercial, VW I think, where the lady is scratching up what she thinks is her car with a hanger, trying to break in? Then the real owner shows up and she realizes hers is down the block.....It could have gone worse for you!

Thats why one needs something to serperate their car from others. Tinted windows or wheels. Even a simple windsheild banner would work. And I NEVER get to park close to the doors. Seems like I'm alwasy 6 or more rows out.

Now that I think about it some more its actually a credit card commercial.

I have decided that it is best to take the first space you happen upon. There are a few reasons I have come to this decision, and please do not call me crazy for wasting so much thought on this subject.Reasons to take the first parking place:1. You will end up getting more exercise by walking to and from the store/mall/movie theater/etc.2. There is a better chance no one will park next to you, limiting the chance of your door getting dinged by some damn SUV throwing his door open into your car.3. If you get serious about finding a good spot, you can probably drive around the lot for a half mile or more waiting for some one to leave. This wastes a lot of time and more importantly miles and gas. If you go to a busy parking lot a few times a week, this driving around could add up to maybe five miles a week looking for a parking spot. Take this times 52 weeks times five years and you have an extra thousand miles on your car because you were too lazy to walk a few extra steps.Sure this all sounds a little nuts, but these are the things I think about as I curse the guy getting the front row spot as I enter a store after a long walk from the last row.

Yes I agree. I tend to park farther away in parking lots. My bf is the same way. The theater lot was almost deserted last night which is why we got pretty close - even had a "drive through" spot!

Same thing happened to me. And it was a every popular satellite Vibe too. I picked up some grafix decals to help personalized my Vibe, but I have to wait till it gets warmer to apply them.My mistaken Vibe story.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2619

Could be a credit card ad I was thinking of. I am a chronic channel surfer, I never watch a whole ad, never watch an ad twice, sorry you marketing types. Unless it is a hot car ad of course....
