GM Card Offer doesn't include the Vibe - what a bummer

Post by jake75 »

In today's mail "We topped off your GM Card Earnings to $2,000."I have about $700 in GM card earnings - GM will increase that to $2,000 if I buy an eligble new GM Vehicle by 3-31-06; like the deal I got in Jan. 2003 when I bought my present Vibe. Opened up to see the list of eligible vehicles- among the few not mentioned is the Pontiac Vibe. Ok on the new Chevy HHR; ok on the Pontiac G6, even ok on the Hummer H2 and H3 and the 2007 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade. [Other notable absence is the Chevy Cobalt.] Too bad - I think that would have motivated me to trade in my '03 Vibe that will be 3 years old on the 27th.

wait, so you were considering trading in your current viibe for a new one had it been on the ok list?

I noticed the vibe and cobalt omission myself. I noticed that the HHr is on the offer, like you said

With the $2,000 GM Card earnings I think I could have traded my low-mileage 2003 for a comparably equipped (AT, Power Package, Monotone) 2006 for $7,200 or less.

In fact I think the 2006 prices were rolled back to about where ther were in 2003. There was a $2,000 reabte in 2003 and also at that time I got another $2,003 when GM "topped" off my GM Card earnings inJan. '03. With discount that made a sweet deal; $18,690 MSRP for about $13,650. Doesn't look like we'll see a repeat of that generosity.
