I've noticed a noise lately when my 03 Vibe shifts from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gears. It sounds like a piece of light metal vibrating when it shifts and it only lasts a second or two. It hasn't affected performance at all. Anyone else noticed this?
Could be a heatshield or something...... and when you hit 2nd or 3rd gear the engine is hitting higher RPM and thus more vibration. try revving it slowly in park and see if it happens.

I talked to a co-worker tonight and he said it sounded like a cam problem to him. If I have 3 or 4 people in the car and I'm accelerating up a hill the noise is louder. It appears any increase in load on the engine makes it worse.
Well, the engine will knock when going up hill like it says in the manual, don't know if that's what you're hearing. But what's weird for me, is when I open and shut my back doors I can hear something vibrate underneath in the back, but not always. It sounds like it's outside the car so I don't think it is tools around the spare but it's kinda weird. Lately shifting has been **** in the city...... a bit jerky, I know it's a small transmission and they kind of do this but I drained the tranny twice already and put in Lucas Oil Tranny Fix as well. I may just get the thing flushed, but ya...... there are a lot of squeeks and vibrations in this car.
