Question 'bout windshield banners.

Post by Lancer »

I've decided what I want to get for a windshield banner, but noticed the other day ,when it was raining, that the wipers go all the way to the top of my windshield and over the area that the banner will be. Has anyone ever had problems with the banners rubbing off from wiper use?

I wouldn't think you would have any problems as long as you got it on right the first time.

mine was cool for a long time. that is until i had ice stuck to my wiper blades, which caused it to scrape off some, but not enough for me to take it off yet.

I had a "VIBE" banner that i bought from TRDVibe a long time ago on the top. It lasted about 2 years or so. By the time I took it off there weren't any chips or peeling either. I just took it off for a change in appearance. Now, I have a sticker hat came with my Tein springs in the middle where the rear view mirror is and it is already starting to peel and chip. I accidentally scraped it with ice scraper, that may be why. The VIBE decal lasted a long time even through the Michigan winters with salt and ice and stuff.

Quote, originally posted by silverawd26 »Put a banner of there GF's Vibe and it lasted about 2 years and it started to peal in spots. Grafxwerks would be the best route as that is where I purchased mine. $20.00 every 2 years is not a lot. you know, it's been a really long time since you've posted any pics of the namesake silver awd Vibe

Hi Lancer,Mine hasn't rubbed off but I do see wiper smears on the vinyl. I don't think there is any way to prevent that really. Mine is just black though, no lettering.Only damage to it so far is from several of the many rocks that love to aim for my windshield. No major damage, just a couple pin holes where the rocks hit. I've had mine on for almost 2 years nowDave

Hey, thanks for everyones input. I was just a little worried that i'd hve to replace the banner every spring.I'm going with a latin phrase in bold red letters over my 20% tinted strip. I have it narrowed down to 3 chioces that I like.1. "Vae Victis" - Woe to the conquered.2. "Svi Generis" - Of it's own kind, unique.3. "Fabricati Diem" - Make my day
