Finally got the Vibe

Post by AndyLT1 »

After a couple months of researching and waiting for the dealer to locate me one, we picked up our Vibe tonight. Gave them the 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Our Vibe is Abyss monotone, AWD, preferred package, sunroof and fog lights. The first thing I did was reprogram the locks so they don't lock or unlock automatically. I hate that crap. So, goodbye 16 mpg Jeep! Hello high 20's!

I would take some pics, but of course it's raining here now. Normally there would be snow on the ground, but it's been 40 degrees here this week. Maybe I'll wash it Saturday and take some pics then.

all Vibes come with fog lights. It's the Matrix that make foggies an option. Happy motoring...

Finally, after 2 months of talking about it. Geez! Don't worry that grin will come off in a few years. Congrats! Time to start modding.

It's on Page 2-9 of my 2005 Manual. It's under Doors & Locks sub-section of the Features & Controls section.

My '06 Canadian Manual -Power Door Locks go from 2-6 to 2-9 and explain all functions and what not but do not mention anything about the auto lock function (no where in the Manual for that matter),, mine locks after starting and removing selector from Park, and Unlock after in Park and key removed,, Thanks a bunch Blue if you would be so kind,,

Well, no pics for now. THe wife has the car at work. It's hers since I have a work van. But we'll mainly drive the Vibe unless we're going two different places. As far as mods, it will stay pretty much stock. I do need to get the rear windows tinted, though. I've got the Firebird for modifying. I guess the '06 owners manuals don't have that lock reprogramming section. I searched on the site for it. Thanks for the well-wishes!
