what holds the bump strip on the door

this thing, how is it held on? is it 3m double sided tape or what and has anybody taken it off and then put it back on. also what does it look like with out that on there on the two tone?

there is a thread here somewhere somebody took it off, it's held on with adhesive and a couple of clips that would leave a hole if you took off the stripedit - http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=3772 indicates that it is held on with an adhesive but there are a couple of locating pins that fit in holes in the door
