Sticky shifter

Post by merckx56 »

So the shifter in the GT was notchy, sticky and just plain pissing me off. I did a search and found a thread from 03 about pulling off the shift boot and lubing the linkage.Well, I used some light grease and some Phil Wood Tenacious Oil (bicycle stuff) on all of the parts that I could see that moved.Verdict? 100% improvement. Quieter shifting, smoother pulls and it goes into 4th easier.

if your shifter is sticky, stop letting blonde women drive your car!
