I own a 05 base Vibe and the drivers side rear view mirror has a distortion in it that causes the cars in the mirror look tall and skinny (kinda like the vibe). Does any one else have this problem? or is it normal? The passenger side looks ok.I am bringing it into the shop on Thursday for a broken interior door lock, oil change, and windows that stick when it gets below freezing, so I need quick responses. Thanks for your help!
never noticed that on mine, but if you are going to the dealer, look at a new Vibe on the lot, and if the mirror has the same effect, then they might all be like that, and if the new one is better, ask to have yours corrected.
did you get it new?if not, then the prevous owner might have cracked the glass. then fixed itwith a auto shop replacement. it's a plastic like material that is similiar to glass. basically a stick on glass. if it isn't done right it can have louvers and make those distortions.
Hiya,One possibility is well, sometimes when it' extremely cold out, my side mirrors have a slight warped look to them. Can only see it when looking at the reflection. Not sure if it makes things look bigger or smaller (I don't remember), I just know the view is slightly distorted when it's extremely cold.My Mother's Aveo mirrors seem to be that way all the time, regardless of cold. It's slight but definitely different than when warmer. Noticed at 20F or so, and below. I thought it might just be more my eyes and the cold but seeing it the same once when driving my Mother's car when it was warm, made me figure it was the mirror and some strange distortion when the temps went down.Dave
