The coldest I've had this year is -19. That was yesterday morning when I started her up before work. I let her idle for about 4-5 minutes while I scraped the ice off of the windows. I wish I had left her for another minute or two... everything was still really stiff when I started to drive off.
i saw -17C yesteray.i usually let it idle for about 4 or 5 minutes while i clean off the car.plugging it in over night helps A LOT! Cdn Tire has a NOMA outdoor timer on sale (got mine for 9.99) and if you check your last electricity bill there is a coupon for another $4 off on the same timer. it works well. i leave for work around 7:30am. i set it to turn on at about 3am so it's warming for 4 hours before i get out there.then again, last year i plugged my car in all night whenever the temperature was going below -10 to -12C overnight and my 2 month electricity bill went up about $4 or so...so the timer may not really be needed except for conservation of energy.oh ya, i also recommend the special 'below freezing' blue extension cord from Cdn Tire. it stays flexible even at -40C which makes things easier.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

I plug it in at night on a timer so it heats for 2 hours and usually let it idle 3 minutes or so before driving away. The shifter is a little stiff but not much.
Ottawa gets pretty cold. I was there one weekend back when I was a kid and it was close to -30 I believe. Talk about having your breath freeze in your nose the second you stepped outside the door. Still didn't stop us from going to the parlement building though.

Oh yeah I'm not saying its not cold as a witches "t i t" because it is! i've worn a bandeau on my head along with my toque, columbia coat, columbia scarf, mits, lined wind pants and Merrill hikers. I look like Kenny from South park I swear! And thats just to go wait for my bus!
