Why would you steal an airbag out of a car?

That's the latest big thing... A free (or very cheap) set of air bags vs. a couple grand for legitimately purchasing them...Lots of people are doing some shady things when they have a car with deployed air bags that they are rebuilding. I would imagine that a crooked enough body shop could easily throw on a set of stolen air bags for dirt cheap when they're repairing the car and pocket the difference that the insurance was paying for a new set...Here's one of many articles: http://www.theglobeandmail.com...ronto

Intresting concept. Never heard of that before. Didn't think there was much intrest in that sort of thing in the theft world. But if you can make a buck anywhere they will find it.
