The cop (LAPD) trailed me for a while (3 exits up the 110 AFTER catching onto me on a city street..ugh), giving me the chance to slow down, but I didn't even notice him. I was tired and just had a spat with the gf..so I was a bit emotional and had the "blinders" on. Since he pulled me over ON the FWY, he had to pull me off so he was within his jurisdiction (CHP owns the FWY's).I have a notice to appear, so I don't know what the damage will be...yet Although, I deserve whatever they give me..yes, I am an idiot
i got a ticket when i was 17. cops had a speed trap on this highway street combo road. the limit was 45. about 100 other cars and myself were doing 60 when caught. i was actually going faster. like 80, but steped on the brakes as soon as i saw the cops.when i went to court, the cop didn't show up so it was dropped, but still managed to end up on my insurance. when i finally got my own. then in 2003, got puled over the same day a friend of mine got pulled over going to work. i remember making fun of him at work all day. then when we got off work. it was my turn. it was a strech of highway that goes from 55 to 45 to 35 within 2 mile strech. i was doing 47 in the 35 section. i didn't even show up for court. just paid the fine. since NY do not honor tickets from another state, i wasn't worried. this is when i lived in VA. ((knock on wood))
got one a year a go on the 1st of November i was going with the flow of traffic then i saw everyone put on their brakes then i did the same but the thing wsa he was hidden and i dont think you can do that in Texas im not sure but he clocked me at 81 in a 65. i was scared s**tless and paid the amount on the ticket and took a deffensive driveing course and bye bye ticket. then 6 days after the ticket i got into a fender bender i felt horrible!
When i had my silver merc sable ls, i got pulled over after 2 highways merged, i speed up and slow down while he was watching so i didnt get a ticket but got a warning, was doing79 in a 55. as for radar detectors ive read the best to are the v1 and escort 8500 x50. Ive had personal experience with the escort and it saved my (removed) from over 2 miles, if i had to pick one it would be the escort.
i used to love my V1 because it would tell me where they were coming from, but when i got pulled with my V1 because the cops were "spotlight" radar checking, i sold it.

No radar will avoid "spotlight" though. My V1 has saved me many times! I do not abuse it though and go 90 in a 70 zone. Have to watch the end of the months too! At any rate I have not been pulled over in the Vibe, my wife either.
i fogot to mention. my brother in law got a speeding ticket in my vibe. he, his wife (my sister) and son plus one of my huskies, were driving my car from VA. i was driving the moving truck of course.
I got pulled over for the first time in my Vibey on Monday night when I was driving thru Ohio but the cop let me go (still extremely shocked about that, considering those cops are typically *******s)... So far, no ticket! ^_^

i just got my first ticket in my vibe this past weekend. it was the first time i'd been pulled over in nearly six years. oh well, guess they had to catch me at some point.
Man... i am under some luck right now, i keep my fingers crossed. my fiance got caught doing 47/35 but got written up at 51! so now i cant use that money to hook up the car or put in savings!!! DAMN women!LOL well shes a good driver so hopefully she wont get anymore. And traffic out here is too bad to drive fast when you want to anyways!

No tickets in the Vibe yet after over 2 yrs ownership! *keeps fingers crossed!* Got pulled over once for raising the back end while driving on base but just got a warning! (thanks TX plates!) He thought maybe the laws were different in TX so let me off with a warning and made me turn off the system (but all it really turned off was the compresors! lol) I've deserved one just about every day I've owned the Vibe and have had some lucky days where I just got a "cut the crap" glare or followed for a bit!

i never once even got pulled over in the vibe. even with all my side graphics and crazy driving! i certainly did speed a lot, but no second glances from the cops. same thing with phil's fusion vibe! *knock on wood* now my legacy gt... that is a different story. been pulled over twice now for speeding and given a warning. then last week i got a ticket for failing to come to a complete stop while on base. (bogus ticket really. i was stopped for 1 sec, but they said i must be fully stopped for 4 sec to be a "complete" stop). they like to look for the scoobies with hood scoops. it had been 6 years since i've been given a ticket. first one was in my red '00 cougar on the hwy doing 5-10 mph over the limit. up here, the vibe was great. cops just seem to ignore you.
yea hope you need another vibe, cops think its just a soccer mom driving around... pretty sure thats why i havent gotten pulled over, i wear the wig and have a bag of soccer balls in the bad though... hahha jk.
now i have my side graphics so i stick out like a sore thumb! but then again, after only 1 wk with them on the car, i've gotten 3 sales and 2 more appts! so it's still worth it, even if it means i have to slow down. but that's why i'm looking forward to the track this year.and just reflashed the car to 93 Cobb stage 2. it puts a very very HUGE smile on my face
got my second ticket in the vibe i was coming hime from the GM show car series AutoRama. normaly the speed limit on the highway is 70 but then there is a night limit as well (65mph) so i was going 77 then i saw him and he was talking to his buddy in a nother patrol car next to him. which sucked i was really hoping for a warning. but this was feb 11.
2 here.71 in a 55, and 47 in a 25also, got in a real bad accident with my first vibe back in Nov '02, it was an Abyss Base 2tone, I'll have to post pics of it or put it in my CarDomain site.....ended up rolling it in a field, walked away from it, the vibe got a nice tow truck ride, I got two gashes on my head

I've been pulled over twice (once in the vibe, once in my old car), but didn't get a ticket either time. The most recent time in the Vibe, it was a real young cop, and I made my eyes tear up and told him I was sorry and couldn't afford to have my insurance go up, etc. etc.He let me go
We shopped around quite a bit, and found Progressive to be the cheapest for us. But then there's lots of different factors that go into the insurance rate, so what's cheap for one may not be for another. For example, I got a discount for my perfect driving record (no idea how I have managed that), and for other people that wouldn't apply.Good luck in your search
Quote, originally posted by Puckman27 »speaking of insurance, now that i've got these lovely tickets on my record, which company is the cheapest!!I've found Mercury Insurance to be the best price, and I did a lot of insurance shopping around too! I have full coverage, and only pay $413 every quarter. As far as tickets are concerned: I ususally get one every year, because I drive fast a lot. Last one was for doing 70-mph in a 45-mph zone, but am taking traffic school to get this one off the record. In fact, my driving record is clean as a whistle (no recorded tickets in over 10 years!). The key is to ask for a courthouse closer to your home or work, whichever is the furthest from the regular courthouse you would have to go to. That way, there's better than a 50/50 chance the cop won't show up because it was too far for them to show up. I've had at least 7 tickets dismissed that way!

My first speeding ticket in the Vibe was in Virginia back in Feb. I was coming back home to TN and got pulled over for doing 83 in a 65. The officer threatened to take me in and make me post bond. I was like what?! I couldn't believe this guy. I have yet to have my court date and dread hearing the cost of that ticket. I'm sure it's gonna rip me a new butthole. LOL!-Jenni Redd

well i wanted to add myself but hey... oh well.I got laser tagged by a cop on a cycle and contrary to all your "bike cops are pricks" theme this guy was alright. Not a word about my car, the tint, no lecture... right to the point. I got a 54 in a 40 zone. 4 points and $122 fine.

His ticket is going to hurt.

what sucks is that last month i got a 4 pt ticket (not for speeding) on base. our insurance has gone up considerably since my little accident end of january. that's not including my laskt ticket nor phil's now. it's gonna hurt a lot!
i got one for goin 87 in a 70, but there were still cars passing me when the cop pulled behind me. i guess i'm in another place where if you're young with a nice car, you get messed with. it happened here with my 90 Zcar as well. the first place was in mishawaka, indiana, right next to south bend, IN. oh well ::shrug::

I was doing 115 mph with a Camaro following me, saw the cop, nailed the breaks, Camaro went around me, Cop pulled us both over, I didn't even get the Flashy lights, I got the "FOLLOW ME" finger, I got nailed at 79 MPH and the other guy tagged at 85 mph. Fine was only like $100 bucks or something low like that. Not pretty but this was like 2 or 3 Mother's Days ago, and haven't had one since.
One ticket, one warning. Ticket in the previous Ford Probe, warning in the Vibe. The ticket was kinda funny. I had just gotten the car back from getting the failed catalytic converter replaced, so the engine was all 'high flow, no resistance on the gas pedal, c'mon floor it!'I was headed to Johnson and Johnson to work on the high school robotics project (Robo Raiders in the FIRST competition). It was a Sunday morning. Valentines day. I was doing 85 in a 55, backroad too. Though it was fairly straight and, unlike Ragingfish's part of New Jersey, not full of deer.So I get to this straightaway with trees on both sides. See the cop parked behind the trees on the right. I let off the gas and coast. I know better than slamming on the brakes (though I should have..a little bit.)Coasted to about 75 before I saw the radar turn on. Knew I was screwed.. He pulled out and pulled me over right before the turn to get on the J&J campus. Came up, asked me for my info. Gave it.He asked me where I was headed. I said J&J, was on the robotics team, and even showed him my visitor pass (with picture!). He asked if I knew I was speeding. I told him no, I apologized, it was around 9:00am, and I had just gotten the exhaust replaced, so I was relearning how to drive the car and not totally awake. He spied the radar/laser detectors on the dash (Old passport units, when you had to have a seperate laser). Asked me if they worked. I said they were mostly for show. I was in high school at the time, so I guess he believed me!He came back and said, Alright, i'm going to give you a ticket for failure to wear a seatbelt. Now, at the time I had these big blue pads on my seatbelt that said 'Ford Motorsport'. Couldn't miss it, and I don't drive without my seatbelt.Catching the drift, I say, 'Thank you officer, I do apologize and will be much more careful in the future'$40 ticket with no points! Awesome. The Vibe was a warning for failure to fully stop at a stop sign. I did a Jersey stop at about 11pm.
