I just install a prestige aps-996 and when I remote start the engine crank for a split second and stop. the car does not have a alarm system because I open the door from the outside with the inside handle. I switch the brain with a known good brain and the problem was still there, so I know its not the brainI also try to put batt pwr to the red ign wire (start wire) and the car start
Some remote starts will have a 'last stop' diagnostic which will tell you what caused the remote start to stop the previous run. Look in your manual for that.Check all your wiring and connections.. This is one of those hard to diagnose problems.

i might be off on this, but when i installed the remote statter on mine (long since came off too) i had a similar issue.what i figured out was the tach wire. the one that tells the alrm/stater that the car is on and doesn't need to keep cranking.the way the alarm was asking me to do it was wrong. i then connected it to one of the coils. that fixed that issue.like i said, i'm not expert, jahntassa on the other hand does this often.
Ah..true. It has been a while since i've done installs, and I knew in the back of my head that there was something else..Did you connect the tach wire? Usually purple with a white stripe. Generally the easiest place to connect this is the fuel injectors. On any of the fuel injectors, use the wire that's the -opposite- of the black with a white stripe. Then look in your remote start manual for programming tach.
