600 miles on odometer on my brand new Vibe.

Post by MassiveOverkill »

I got my new Vibe with 600 miles on the odometer. I know they had to transfer it from Jacksonville to Melbourne which is roughly 180 miles. So why wasn't this thing trailered and has anyone else gotten their Vibe with so many miles on it?

The dealer your dealer obntained the cr from may have had to transfer it to their lot from yet another dealer farther off.My G6 had over 200 on the odo at delivery.

ThAT DEFINITLY SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS BEING USED AS A "DEMO". 800 miles is "NOT" a common "NEW" car mileage. Did yo buy your Vibe at the Pontiac dealer near the Health First Holmes medical center??? I live in Melbourne Beach.

Yep, Lane Pontiac Buick GMC. It was actually 600 miles, about 180 to drive it down from Jacksonville, so actually 420 miles discounting that. Oh yeah, and howdy neighbor

i'm not positive, but in ontario (Canada?) if you buy a 'new' car with more than a certain number of kms on it, there are issues...changes to the contract or they have to reduce the price by a certain amout...maybe somebody else can elaborate?
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

I used to live next to a Ford dealer - he was driving a new car (stickers and all) every week. He said he was limited on milage - but he could pick cars that weren't likely to sell like Foci, Tauri, or Rangers... others needed to stay on the lot for people to oggle.Either way, I agree - it wasn't "new" when you got it - someone else spent some time in the driver's seat.

I once got a merc. Sable with 4000 miles on it. The dealer ( a friend) said his wife put too many miles on it. Got a good deal on the car. He said the limit is under 4000 to be considered a new car. My vibe had 270 on it. 178 the first time I looked at it. walked on the deal and they called me back 2 days later with a 2k better offer. I lost 100 mile but gained 2k . Not bad.
