Silverstars, realignment = night driving bliss!

Post by binary »

I adjusted my headlights up by about 4 turns of a screwdriver each. Now I can see farther than 4 car lengths on a dark road. Then I found AutoZone has $2 off SilverStars - so I grabbed a set. Installed last night while it was snowing. (man that driver's side headlight is a pain!) I looked all over for GE's white lights, but couldn't find a set. I wasn't going to WalMart to get them.Rock'in bright light! I showed my wife side by side and there's such a difference, I'll be getting a set for her too! They're so much whiter and arguably brighter. More true to white light. It's about as close to HID's that I can afford

we'll see how much you like them in 3-4 months, when the first one burns out on you. They never seem to make it to their full (already short) live expectancy

One of my silverstar headlights burn't out at 13 months and the other headlight, both fogs and both turns (all Silverstars) are still going strong. I would never go back to the OEM bulbs after having these.

Hey binary,There should have been a $5 mail-in rebate too. I know that's what's going on around here at least. A $5 mail-in rebate, a $2 at the register, at Auto-Zone.... I think it's a $5 or $6 dollar at the register discount at Advance Auto.Still not going to buy em for me again. If they last for you then cool. I really hope they do. I haven't seen the GE bulbs anywhere other than Wal-Mart. I'm going to try to Philips Extreme Blue's next. Bought Hella bulbs last. They last fine but aren't as bright as the SS's. Will get the Philips at Meijer for $30.Dave

I hope they last, because they work much better than the OEM bulbs. And seriously - I don't want to have to move the battery again to install a headlight.

my first set lasted from dec 03 to fall of 05 and only one burned out, so I replaced both of them. They are awsome aren't they?

I have SS on the Vibe and my truck. They are great. Anytime one burns out in under a year, I bring it back to Canadian Tire where I buy them and they give me a replacement , no questions asked.
