It was a Robert from Ypsilanti MI. with 86,000 milesYou can hear the segment at http://www.cartalk.com/Radio/Show/online.html segment 9.They told him that sometimmes stuff happens, and that he should replace the bearing in his bad one that is sitting in his workshop, and hold on to it in case the new tranny goes bad. He paid $1600 for a replacement used tranny and new clutch kit, installed. Steve, thanks for the heads up on the show

They had some lady with a jacked up clutch on her almost new Matrix XRS with like 15,000 miles or something who called in a few weeks ago as well. *sigh* Is it just me, or am I the only one noticing a pattern here with an alarming number of tranny related issues? Very sad.At least I'm adding a bit of variety into the mix, finally someone has an automatic transmission that is dying, not a manual! Whatta piece of junk.
