Just curious. Is there any single non car (or driving) related item that is always in your Vibe? In the left rear stow away bin I always have my little swim bag with my goggles, waterproof MP3 player and swimsuit for the unpredicatble times I pass my pool and have the time to get a swim in. What do you always keep in your car?
Good one. Let's see... There is usually a weather radio around somewhere, a flashlight, an extra leash for the dog and a bowl for water if he needs... I usually have trash all over the place too, does that count?

I use to have one of the "boggle" head bulldogs in the back window of my Sunfire... but in the Vibe... um nothing other then my car tool set and the doggie bed seat belted to the back seat...

The very first Craftsman tool set my dad bought for me years ago. That thing has lived in my past 2 cars and I've used them more than I use the power windows just about.

Let's see. I keep my cell and accessories, gum, cds and a road atlas in my car at all times.Later, Jenni Redd

Since we're talking tools too, I carry a small set with me all the time. Can't live without the ratchet and 10mm socket used to take 99% of this car apart.. And a wrench for the battery cable. Duct tape, why of course. Electrical tape, wire cutters/crimpers, fuses, spare tire gauge, etc. Towels to clean the car, and many different cleaning supplies.

Thanks. I I felt like such a tool myself today over something that was in the car that I had forgotten was there. I had my Vibe in Best Buy having them install some accesories for my stereo. (I replaced the factory deck a year ago with a Kenwood ez-500 that I have loved, but today I switched it from XM to Sirius, as well as getting an iPod direct interface.) Well, as they were looking for a place to put the iPod wire, they opened my glove box and I had a bunch of 9mm and .44 ammunition from the last time I went to the range. The guy kinda looked at me funny after that.Oh, I ended up putting the iPod cradle in the compartment right below the shifter.
remote for XM receiver small bag container of hand tools with spare tire! and not much else never have anything rolling around or clutter or junk always has to be clean !!!

You know the bare necessities of life.Flash light, road map, cell phone charger, a couple of screw drivers, my mp3 player accessories oh, and my sunglasses.
Cell phone charger, remote for the AVIC-N1 and it's Navigation CD's, and towels of any sort, always cleaning it... My system never comes out either. Those things are ALWAYS in my Vibe, but other 'junk' add's up fast too!

Hmm... let's see...In the little left hand side (by steering wheel) I have an emergency $20 bill for gas and sunglasses. In the center console I have pens, sticky note pads, small pack of tissues, tire gauge, hands-free earpiece for cell phone, and plastic utensils for when I sometimes eat in my car.In the little storage compartment beneath the shifter I have this little thing that contains 10 plastic bags for when I have trash in my car, and 2 "new car scent" tree freshners that I store there when the one hanging on my mirror gets old.I don't have anything yet in the two rear compartments but in the long one behind the rear seats I store rags for wiping down my car.In the area below the cargo (where the spare tire is stored) I have jumper cables and some tools. In my trunk area I have an emergency kit and a form-fit windshield cover.

I won't even try to list all the junk I have floating around my Vibe! It's usually a cluster-F of stuff and I rarely clean it unless I am going to a meet or something, and even then it's usually half-A! I'm a pack rat and feel the need to have everything with me all the time, including parts that are awaiting install!

Jumper cables under the rear deck. A tube of bunige cables. A 3 cell mag light. A box of Dayquill (for those really great mornings). A power adapter for my laptop. And a can of fix-a-flat.My last three cans of fixaflat were given to strangers who had really low tires. Once or twice a winter I break out the cables for somebody who ran their battery down.I guess the one thing not related to driving, that seems to always be in my car is an old aluminum hurst shifting handle. A friend of mine gave it to me to use a couple of weeks before he took his life. I hadn't realized he was giving away all his stuff, but he had some deep rooted depression problems. I guess it just reminds me of good times we had racing and working on our cars. I always mean to take it out and put it in my toolbox for safekeeping... but never gets there.

Things I have in my Vibe, I have more than one *thing*. -Toolkit because I found out the lug nut wrench GM provided does not fit aftermarket lug nuts on my wheels. Luckily I did not find out the hard way .-Bungy cords to secure cargo when needed.-Large old table cloth used as a tarp to protect cargo area when carrying dirty, sandy, and/or wet cargo (ex. kayaks).-Ice scraper (a must have in winter)-Probably will get a small shovel for this winter.-Driving gloves-CDs of course-Plastic bags, paper towels, and tissues. Learned the hard way after having people throw up in the back seat.-And last but not least, sometimes an airplane.I have all these things, but most are stowed away out of site. I like to keep my car looking clean and organized.

Doesn't anyone else carry picnic gear?I have a set of plates, cups, and utensils, plus the all-important quilt. Beyond picnicking (a little cold for that now!) the quilt protects the seats from the dog, is emergency warmth, and can put out minor fires....(sometimes life is TOO interesting.)

I doubt this will come as a surprise to some, but I have a peace sign bracelet on my shifter. Other non-driving items I keep in my car - my Hello Kitty CD holder; Ziploc bags to pick up dog stuff when we go for walks; Carmex; a fleece blanket; a change of clothes (if there is an accident at work - I'm a chemist, they happen). I know there are other things, but am drawing a blank right now.I also have many of the items other have mentioned - jumper cables, tire inflator, etc.

Yes, my state has concealed carry. But get caught with 0.001% alcohol, and a concealed weapon, and you're in BIG, BIG trouble.Since I don't drink, this isn't a concern for me.

Great topic. I have all of the regular stuff: towels, wax, tire shine, tools, flashlight, sunglasses, flares, and MORE stuff. I think the thing that I have in my Vibe that's the most NON car related ever is a patch of cloth that a friend gave to me as a rememberance. I put it in the glove compartment along with my unending supply of Listerine Citrus strips. Never can have too-fresh breath. The opposite is definitely a hinderance! Tyke
