Nav System Part Number?

Post by Sherpa269 »

Anyone have the part number for the Nav System display unit found in the 04 vibes?Mine is dying. Got any suggestions for a replacement?Damn warranty just expired (40,000 miles). I have had the car for a year and half. I am not impressed. Anyone else had this problem?

No problems with mine, what's dying exactly? You'd be better off getting an AVIC-D1 from Pioneer.

It is taking noticbly longer to get GPS signal lock. Also today, for the second time, the system did not fully tun on. When I started the car, the screen was bank. Not even a clock display. The radio played the previously set station, but the unit was unuseable. None of the buttons functioned. After about 45 minutes of driving (with turning the car on and off) the system finally began to function.Does the pioneer connect to the 6 disc player?

NO, the pioneer unit is aftermarket. you can always get a aftermarket cd changer.the reason the pioneer unit was recomended is because it's such a better system. it's double din, touch screen, plus it has dual disc slots. (dvd rom, CD)if you are still looking for the stock nav. look into ebay. i've seen a few there. they ran for about 600$ used. the pioneer unit runs for 1k$ new.i don't know how much the stock unit runs for new. probably around 2k$.

The reason he asked is because the NAV 6 disc changer under the seat IS a Pioneer. However, no, I don't believe it will connect up, even if you try to finagle it into working. It's built by Pioneer, but probably doesn't use the same standards as the Pioneer headunits would.
