homemade wine bottle rack/holder

Has anyone here made their own wine bottle rack or holder? I want to make one for my mom, since they have so many bottles, but was wondering what a good design was.theres the cross hatch, or |_|_|_| looking one. I was going to make it from nice wood so it could be on the counter or in th cupboard.

i prefer the cross hatch, it looks cleaner i think.

yea im totally thinking the cross hatch, i saw it at my god parents house during thanks giving in their newly remodeled kitchen and thought it was awesome.
