Running wire from middle dash to center console or under seats

In particular, anyone have tips or suggestions on running wiring under the carpet from under the shifter to the center console and under the seats?Is there a way to get it into the center "hump" tunnel?TIA

I haven't done it, but I would pull the console under the shifter and the one between the seats, and if needed use something like a coat hanger to push the wire under the carpet. Guess it depends on how big of a wire bundle you are running, but I probably wouldn't take it outside to run it back in. Standing by to hear the details of your project ... when you are ready, of course.

Yeah, take out the center conole between the seats, four 10mm bolts. It might be easier for you if you remove the part of the dash under the shifter. There's instructions on how to do it, somewhere...but with those two pieces out, it's pretty easy to run stuff.

No joke - running wires to the center console is a bear! I gave up after a while and just wire loomed my XM wires. I was hoping to get back and re-run them when I found out how/if anyone else did it. I'll be watching this thread!

best way to get full access at the center tunnel under the carpet.remove the passenger seat, the lower shifter console and center console, and pull up the carpet from the a pillar corner.might take you a little longer, but you will get itright and done the first time. things come out better when there's less frustation involved.

I found the removing the center consol and just one of the seat made it a piece of cake. That was with the radio out though. 1 0 guage, 4 RCA's, remote lead, ground, and 6, 8 guage.

I actually found it quite easy. Remove the rear console (i.e. armrest) via the 4 bolts jahntassa spoke of.Then remove the lower shifter console via this method:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5940(it's easier then it looks at first glance).Then just use fishing tape or even just an unbent coat hanger and pull the wires through. It's VERY easy. When I did this, I ran a bundle of about twelve 12-gauge wires through from the shifter to the armrest for "future installations." Nothing ever came of it though...when I removed everything from the car for trade-in, the wires came too -- having never been used for anything. Depending on how many wires, and what gauge(s) you're running, however, you *may* want to consider other methods (i.e. removing the passenger seat) for the simple reason that too many wires will not only create a bulge in the carpet between the shifter and armrest consoles, but it cold also keep you from reseating the armrest console properly.If it's just a few smaller ones, go for my method. If you're talking heavier gauges and/or significant quantities, consider previously mentioned methods.
