I've noticed on my 2006 that when I turn on the rear window wiper, the rear window defroster indicator cycles on for a few minutes then off for a few minutes continuously. Is this normal ? Perhaps a "feature" to theoreticaly keep you from tearing up your rear window wiper if it is frozen ? Any chance this is some programmable feature that was omitted from my manual like the door locks were ? Also when in this mode, you can't manually turn the defroster off. The rear window defroster works as normal as long as the rear window wiper is off. Thanks in advance.
OK I checked it out. Ya it was fast but I was curious. My defroster does not cycle on and off. I would have it checked. How many miles on your '06, I've got 6,700 miles already.
Thanks for the test. It takes 5 minutes or so for it to start happening it seems. I've only got about 500 miles on mine. Just getting started. Thanks again.CRG
Actually, one more bit of info. It ONLY does it when in LO (Interval) mode, and it toggles. Seems to be related to the current draw when the rear wiper motor stops running, as I can se ethe radio lights dim ever so slighly when it stops each time (The wiper motor), like the defrost relay gets a false trigger or something at that instant. At least now I have a way to consistently reproduce the symptom. That'll help. Thanks again for the test and help.
