New, never been asked CAI Question

Post by Roadpig »

I don't think I have seen this question anywhere in this forum. Does anyone know the type of screw, size & thread, of those tiny little screws that hold the MAF in place? I 'm asking because I recently installed a CAI and the super well engineered Injen CAI had paint in the screw holes where the MAF is intalled. Needless to say, I almost stripped the head of the screws, so if I ever have to take the MAF off, like to clean it, I'd be screwed...pun intended. I'm hoping to get a new pair of screws somewhere. Thanks!

You must be talking about the Mass Air Sensor? Not sure the size or pitch but you can take one to a quality fastener place ( Real Hardware store ) or a good auto store ( not a chain store like auto zone) and they can size it up.

If you just cannot find the screws to match do this. I have done this before...File grooves into the tops of the screws, doing so you will then make them a Regular type screw head for a Regular sized screw driver. Good luck asking the dealer!
