Hardwire my radar detector, got a ?

Post by June »

I wanted to hard wire my radar detector. It's a cheapo, nothing special but I like to mount it above the rearview mirror. Any objection to me tapping into the power from the moonroof to do so? It seams like I could just splice into the power and neg from that and be set. What do you think.

Doesn't sound like it would be a problem to me. I believe there is a how-to about it around somewhere...

My understanding is it won't create a problem except when you go to open/close the roof, it temporarily disconnects power from the RD.

Same as satur9! No issues so far, and it has been 3 + years.
