GT/Base Suspension Differences

Post by cybermob2 »

the GT has a slightly different suspension setup right? I'm guessing different springs and maybe swaybars?i've ridden in lowered cars before... my base will have 18s next summer and i really dont want the bouncy bone jarring feel you get from lowering, especially in michigan.whats involved in a GT suspension swap if any? my interest is because the GT seems to have a slightly milder ride than a lowering kit offers, but *seems* to axe soem of the wheel gap on the base vibes.

I could be wrong but I don't think there is any difference in the GT and base suspensions. They sit at the same height. Now lowering your Vibe may cause it to be bouncy, but lowered on 18" rims will also make it rough. Also the GT and base Vibe has a different tire size, that can change the "tire gap" a little bit.
