I was going to, but after budgeting the $$$ and having not reserved one, looks like I won't be getting one anytime soon. If you go to your local Wal-Mart they should have one set up, and let me tell you, in HD that thing is CLEAN! I guess for now I will have to stick with my PSP, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube with numerous games I haven't even had time to play anyways!

Where is the "I'll wait till the price drops and then only MAYBE" vote? cause I'd vote for that one lol.I'm a Sony guy, always will be... I'm holding out for the PS3.I tested out a 360 at Wal-mart the other day. Personally it didn't seem any different from the regular Xbox

im waiting for ps3,I played x360 at Best buy and wasnt impressed either, it looks like xbox 1.5. the thing i still hate about xbox is EVERY thing is shiny!! its the same with x360. I only own a xbox because my friend sold it to me for 50 bucks and it was broken, i fixed it up and modded it for fun. Ps3's hardware specs and features should also make it more of a media center/pc/console than xbox with 2 HD video outs both being progressive while x360 only has 1 interlaced hd out
Trust me, if I get one, I will get the other as well! (Oh, and you may ask about the other thread, yeah, most likely end up getting neither for a while! )

I don't plan to buy one. I saw one at Best Buy on demo last weekend and I wasn't all that impressed, I wasn't WOWed. Like someone mentioned, I agree it seems more like Xbox 1.5. I'm excited about the PS3, the trailers have looked amazing especially MGS4 and they say it is in game footage not CG. So, I'll be waiting until next year for the PS3 most likely. I like Microsoft's advertising on TV. They don't have much to do with videogames (jump roping and water balloon fights), but they really intrigued me to see what it was about.

ANY system when it's first released is not going to have a game that truly expresses the ability of the hardware.soon there will be games out there that will blow your minds. the ps2 when it was first introduced. i thought it was soo crappy. i've seen the new project gotham 3. it looks good. i too will likely wait for prices to go down some, but i will choose it over the ps3. sony has snver impressed me with any innovations. they seem to always follow than create. only after 15 yrs, they intoduce a hand held gamer. on top of this, it's essentionally a ps2, and so are the games, just remakes of old ps2 games.
there is a point that first gen games look like crap, yea i know i own midnight club 1 on ps2. but with gt5, gta (its rumored to be only for sony!! ), socom, killzone, god of war and mgs only on ps3. I make my purchases on games and those games made me the happiest gamer EVER. ill try buying a 360 broken and fix it if its cheap enough, MS doesnt deserve my money for their business practices.as for the comment on innovation......come on the ps3 has 2 HD out puts that are progressive scan! x360 has 1 thats interlaced.... i think the only thing that makes x360 better is the live. only going through 1 online community is a very good idea, thats one of sony's problems on ps2 for online support, but i usually only play socom so its no biggie for me, i dont want to pay to play on live any way.
Was watching G4 tv and a couple of shows on there all had the same impression. Sure its cool there is the release of another system. But its to soon and nothing so far seems to be overly impressive. For example games being released on the 360 are also available on the PS2 and graphics wise seem no different...I agree with them.

Even PS2 to Xbox is a huge difference. I won't buy a game on anything other than Xbox if it is released on the Xbox as well. Take NFSU2, I played it on PS2, bought it on Xbox b/c it looked 100x better. I saw it again on GC, I could barely tell it was NFSU2!! If you say they look the same you need to put them side by side and really look at them, you WILL see quite a difference.

Tomb Raider Legends, compare the PS2 footage and the 360 footage, looks the same to me. Neversoft's Gun, released on all systems, looks pretty much the same across all systems. Looking at the information on X-play about a couple of the war games on 360, looks the same as pc and ps2 versions... honestly if I was to seriously consider getting the 360, they'd have to release a game that was surpassing all else in graphics and NOT be available on any system I currently own.Like I said before, I swear on the Sony... their main feature is the backwards compat allowing you to play PS games on the PS2 and when the PS3 comes out, PS2 and PS1 games will be playable on it. I'm not much of an online gamer and to me that and Halo is all Xbox has going for it. But thats just my opinion. You can certainly have your own though I would not advise it

TBHWY, I get all the systems b/c they each have games that only come out on that individual system, but at the same time, when a game comes out multi-plat, I always go Xbox just for the faster, better, cleaner looks and faster load times. Same with this, like I said, I will probably end up getting both, and I do agree with the backwards compat being very important. That is 1 thing I do not like about the 360. Hell, even Fable, when they came out with the Lost Chapters addition for Xbox, the old saves from the regular Fable don't work, you have to play through the entire game again! I wasted $20 for nothing b/c I didn't realize that until afterwards. Some things are better about each, but I think visually THUS FAR Xbox has a much better appeal to it than any other system. Maybe in this case the PS3 will be better than the 360. It is very possible, but only time will tell and I do think Xbox jumped the gun to beat Sony to the table. It may end up costing them, but at the same time, find one available somewhere other than a store that doesn't take reserves or Ebay. I think the 360 will be the X-mas gift of the year this year where it will make most of it's sales and Sony's PS3 will hold it next year. Which is better will only be determined after both are out.

ok game may ...some games may look better on xbox but not 100x better. the reason games on xbox look better can be seen in a couple reasons.xbox uses computer code for games, making it very easy to code games for. ps2 uses its own code making it harder for people to learn its full abilities. i mean have you seen gt4, it looks better than any game on xbox, reviews can even justify this. MGS 3 i think was the same, it has amazing graphsics. because the company took the time to learn and develop the game just for ps2 utilitizing its cell and support processors. i bet most companies make the game on xbox then try to port it to ps2, thus downgrading the quality so its faster and easier for them.ok seriously whats the deal with every xbox game graphics looking shiny? honestly i hate that.. ps2 just seems to have real graphics and xbox seems sorta fakey. Then there is also the fact that it came out later so it had better hardware specs. this will be the same with x360 and ps3. Although we will have to wait until ps3 comes out to be 100%, my (removed) is going to be getting a ps3 the day its out
well see what I feel might turn out to be a mistake for 360 is that its coming out in a few days but there are NO other system launches near it. That means Sony who has yet to release any information regarding the PS3 launch has come to research the current competition including the 360 and make theirs compete or surpass accordingly. It will be to soon for Microsoft to release another Xbox in that short of time to combat the release of the PS3. Of course it could be a bad move for Sony to wait on their launch and let Xbox collect the market... but we'll see.

heres whats smart about sony. the price should be 350-400 bucks, and it will be the only cheap blu-ray dvd player...just that alone will sell just for blu-ray movies and then its also a ps3 gaming console and media center, there was one of the sony heads talking about being able to install ur own OS, being able to game on one tv and surf the net on the other, has 3 1gb network ports and wireless 802.11g and bluetooth built in...its going to be sweet.

I was really impressed with it when I first played it. The graphics were a big leap above PS1 and N64. When I saw the Xbox 360 demo, I wasn't really impressed. Yes, it's better than the current generation of consoles, but it didn't seem to be as big a jump over this generation as the PS2 and Xbox are over their previous generation. It looked as good as PC games. When the PS2 first came out, it was a step above PC games. I'm also waiting for the PS3 because of the many upcoming exclusive games such as MGS4, SOCOM, Kill Zone, and future Final Fantasy titles that I'm really looking forward to.Sony not being innovative? I'd say Nintendo is more innovative than Sony, but Microsoft doesn't seem too innovative, not any more than Sony. They decided to jump on the videogame bandwagon a few years ago and I don't think the Xbox is all that innovative. Yeah, their Xbox Live is great, but I think the PS2 has a much bigger selection of better games. The PSP is a pretty sleek gadget. It may not be really innovative, but what do you want innovative? The Nintendo DS is innovative with the stylis, but one of my brothers has one and doesn't enjoy it as much as his PSP. Having almost a PS2, video and music player, photo viewer, and emulator in the palm of your hand is pretty cool.I'm all for competition, it just makes everything better for us. If I had all the money and free time, I wouldn't mind having all the systems. Don't get me wrong, the Xbox 360 does look like a cool system, but it just doesn't "WOW" me like it should. Maybe it will in the future, but right now, the PS3 has given me more of a "WOW".

ps2 was innovative to me. i dont know if anyone actually know it thou...theres the ps2 eyetoy, gaming with a camera is freaking awesome, im getting the work out game kinetic i think its called when it comes out soon. theres also the DDR dance pads which are out for all systems now (yea yea nes had a pad too) and the ps2 headset took gaming to crazy places with a game...dang i forgot the name but you only used the headset to tell the person what to do (3rd person action game sorta like resident evil). or what about using psp as a controller for ps3..thats cool although nintendo did that... i agree that xbox/ms isnt innovative, i mean they are using a standard dvdrom but have HD output, they should of stayed with what they were "going" to have, the hd dvd format, although they say they might release addon or re-release x360 with it. oh justinvgt! yea best HD games on ps2 are God of War, Shadow of Colossus and GT4 man i cant wait for mgs 3 sustinance or whatever it is to be out, online play is going to be sweet.nintendo is very innovative, i just think being innovative gets them the mass of the gaming population. most people seem to hate change, but theres always the niche they hit.
Sony's PS2 was ranked number one for the best variety of games out there just simply because they have everything. Sports games, horror games, action games, fantasy games, weird "(removed)?" games lol racing games, westerns. GT4 is simply amazing and IMO the most realistic looking racing I've played. MGS1-3 all the Final Fantasy games, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider just to name a few of my fav series of gemes are more then enough reason for me to stick with my PS2.should I branch more into online gaming, then definatly I'd get a 360.

i'll be picking mine up tuesday (i preordered in may). after all the reading about pure hardware specs, and seeing footage of the 360 in action (there's no live gameplay footage for the ps3), i was on the fence as to whether or not i should cancel. then bioware announced they're going to release 3 360 games, and the deal was sealed. the only reason i own an xbox is because of KOTOR. i'm not terribly impressed with any of the launch titles (i'm picking up kameo and tony hawk), but like others have said, i don't expect to be. the ign review of nba 2k6 includes a mention of the fact that other than the player models (and the game engine itself), everything is a direct port of the xbox version of the game from this year. apparently the player models and animations look amazing, but the crowd, the courts, the couches, etc leave something to be desired. for the time being, that's what i'd expect from any games that aren't freshly created for the 360. early next year though, things should get interesting.
the ppl who made killzone trailer said its in game graphics.. (removed) it looks amazing MGS 4 trailer is 100% in game graphicsand so is armored core 4, but thats for xbox360 as well. there was also unreal 2007 running at E3, now...its not running on final hardware and might be "trailer", and i dont know how anyone would expect it to as its months out from being done, but mgs 4 made my pants wet. kojima said that the graphics from the trailer arent even what the game will look like when its done! mgs has to be one of the best games to push playstation hardware to new heights.Im like exactly like Mav, if i was super into online gaming id get both but i just hope one of my friends gets a x360 so i can play pefect dark, game looks good.
i bought and paid for mine already... i can't wait cuz i'm gonna be playing quake 4 while i should be turning in my equipment from fort bragg so that i can leave fort bragg

Think Im getting one but not till around xmas time. I played called of duty 2 on my comp cause you can download the demo sample and today I played the xbox version at Target. The graphics are soo much cleaner. I lke xbox over any Sony console.

Well, I may or may not be getting one. I decided to quit modding the Vibe in favor of paying bills, so I was going to pass on the 360 until I got some bills knocked out, but the wife gave me $$$ she got from a school grant to pay one of the bills with. I told her later I probably wasn't going to get it b/c I couldn't afford it and she told me to use the $$$ she gave me for the bill to buy the system with and we would just pay the bills w/ our tax returns. So, now I have the moral dilemma of using the bill $$$ to buy a game system I will probably barely have time to use or to pay a big chunk of a bill with. well, i would be half tempted to pick up one of those X360's but since we have NO Xbox games, it would seem like a waste of money with the PS3 coming out right around the corner. so i suppose we'll end up waiting for that to come out so i can check how our system works with it.
I'm actually considering a 360. In addition to the PS3, of course. I'm a diehard Sony game fan so I can't betray my loyalty. There are a few games that MS has exclusive rights to that I hate to pass up.
