Hi - My 2005 Vibe has 40,000 miles on it. Just had the oil changed, etc and they recommend I get new tires. They gave me a quote on Bridgestone Insignia SE200 Type 205-55R16Can anyone tell me if these are good tires? Or what would you recommend?I have an AWD. Live in MN (so have wet, snowy and icy roads 3/4 of the year!) Plus I drive a LOT ;-)THANKS!Birdiegirl
If you want an excellent all season which is also an excellent snow tire, the Goodyear Tripletread is the top rated tire in it's class. It's $112.00 but worth every cent. The SE 200 is only an S-rated tire. It ranked 19th out of 31 on http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...SE200 It is priced at $73.00.
I had the H rated Good-for-a-Years removed when I bought my "05 AWD, and had Bridgestone Insignia SE200s put on in there place. They are fantastic! The TireRack is way off base to rate them out of the top 10. A quiet tire, yet heavilly siped. Great wet adhesion. I can't wait for snow!
Decided to go with the Goodyear Tripletreads after doing research, etc. Appointment is Tuesday morning, so will have the truck tomorrow...will let you know how they feel on Wednesday!I can't believe I have 40K miles on my Vibe!! It's been a GREAT vehicle. Nothing has gone wrong w/it (knock on wood). This vehicle is going to my son in a year (his first car)...and I'm probably going to get another vibe for myself...so hoping the 2007 revisions will be sweet.ThanksBirdiegirl
