Hey all, Think I found a Vibe to buy so that I can join the club ... I worked what I think is a good price, but it's an odd configuration - didn't know if I should be wary or not.2003 Base Vibe, lt green with effects34,000miles still under factory warrantyHas Alloy rims and tinted windows, but No ABSHas Power Moonroof, but no power windows or door locks.Seems like an odd config to me... no ABS I can understand, but who would order up a sunroof, tinted windows, and alloys but not get the power package (windows, doors, keyless, etc)? It's at a dealer who says it was a single owner trade - carfax supports that.Made a deal for 10k - Edmunds says 10k trade, 11k private, and 13k dealer.I'm picking it up tomorrow, so chime in quick if theres something I should know! Could this car have some sort of weird history? Thanks!
I have a base 2003 vibe moons and tunes but no power windows or door locks. it leaves that much more electrical mods you can add without taxing the battery. I can pretty much reach all the doors to lock or unlock them, the cars not that big. and if a passenger wants a window down, well I hope their arms aren't broke. welcome to genvibe I hope you like your vibe. did you say it was "envy" green? if so that makes it all the more rare since envy was pretty limited.
ABS is probably in that one power package that was excluded, along with cruise control most likely not present. Sounds like my 04... I ordered it completely base but with the premium sound package lol.and envy colour to... nice and rare.

Thx for all the replies!Has the alloy rims - not sure about the tires... I haven't actually seen the car yet. Negotiated over the phone/email and my wife was out that way & test drove it today. She liked it & didn't notice anything that would be a deal breaker, so I'm headed out tomorrow afternoon to sign the papers. Unless I find something they didn't disclose upon closer inspection, I'm taking it home with me.They're replacing the brake pads and putting on two new front tires before I get there - they said the rears were basically new, but I didn't ask what they were.I didn't realize that the green was so rare... when I started shopping for them I wanted a yellow one, but nothing workable came up - gotta say I like this color too - maybe even more than the yellow.I've been reading the board tonight... figure that I should check on any potential warranty issues and get it into the dealer right under the 36k limit. Is there a single list somewhere of the most common problems, or is going through all the posts the best way to go about making my checklist?
You'll find the people on this board to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can also use the SEARCH feature to find specific information. Happy Vibe-ing!
Welcome and hopefully you'll enjoy your Vibe.People get all kinds of different option combinations. I don't work in assembly, so I don't see it first hand, but I've heard of odd power options like power windows and locks on the front doors but not the rear. I'm lazy so I take all the power I can get, but get what works for you.Was that green that one that we got rid of in the middle of the year a couple of years ago? If so, I remember when I saw it I liked it, but no one else seemed to. We talked about how long we thought it would be before they got rid of it, and it wasn't long at all. We didn't make many of those but they sure stood out everytime one rolled down the line.

That is why it is so rare. It was only done for a short time at the beginning of the '03 line.

There were only 766 Envy Green Vibes built in the '03 model year. Here's an old thread with early production numbers by paint color --> http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6023BTW, there are no factory "yellow" Vibes. I think the Toyota Matrix offers yellow.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Power Pkg included power door locks with remote keyless entry, power windows and cruise control. On my 2003 sticker it was $1,025 but there was a $400 power package discount so it really was only $625 .In 2003 Antilock Brakes were $500; Aluminum wheels $440. Monotone was $325. My notes say the moons & tunes was $825 with a discount of $700 for a net of $125 but that doesn't seem right. If so, would explain why someone might have ordered a Vibe with just that option.

WOW! 1 of 766? That's pretty freaking amazing... Now that I know that, I'm going to feel bad about driving it - seems like I should hide it away in bubblewrap somewhere for the next couple of decades.Bought it with the intent of running it up to 200k over the next 8 years or so.It's replacing my 92 Mazda mx-3 which just isn't going to make it that last 1200 miles to 200k...
hells yeah! congrats on the new and 'rare' envy pruchase!enjoy the ridei plan on driving my o4 til it drops. i've got a 60mile roundtrip commute, and i enjoy itwelcome to genvibe
