I ordered an '06 Vibe in Fusion about 4 weeks ago. It's not in the '06 brochure or on the web site as an option, but it was still in the dealer materials for '06 and the dealer was still able to input the order in the computer. I just got a call today saying that Fusion was "Restricted" and that there is no information on when and/or if it will ever become available again. This is real bummer! This was the only truly interesting color availble. Of the 8 availalbe colors, 5 are various shades from white to black! Then there is a dull dark blue. This leaves lava and salsa. I like salsa but it is inconsistent and seems to look very dull on at least half the cars I have seen in that color. Lava is OK but a little to racy. May have to cancel the whole thing and wait for the Dodge Caliber to come out next year!Pete
I did that, not a chance of finding one. Problem is I must have a base with a 5 sp, ABS and the power group. I would also like the sunroof, monsoon stereo, alloys, alarm and a few other options. Seems Pontiac only builds base 5sp cars totally stripped. How can you sell a car now with no ABS, no power windows and no power locks for $17000? Even a base Scion has all this stuff for $4000 less. The only way to get a manual trans with some options is to get a GT. I have driven some and really don't like the power delivery or the transmission feel. It also gets 5 mpg less. This is very unfortunate that such a potentially great car is out there but just can't be had. I would have changed my color selection and proceeded with the order, but now I can't get delivery until after new years. So I have no idea how much the rebates/incentives will be when the deal closes. I can't take the risk of paying an extra $1500 for the car if it arrives when no rebates are in effect. Looks like my time on the Vibe Forum was very short lived.Pete

Maybe I'm a bit partial, but I think that "dull dark blue" is very pretty, especially when the sun shines on it...

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to offend any owners with blue, white, silver, gray or black cars. Everybody has their own preference, I just prefer something that stands out a little more. But you must admit that the color choices are limited, no yellow, green, electric blue, purple, gold or whatever. The Vibe is a great looking, practical, good performing car, we deserve some color choices and appropriate marketing from Pontiac! Instead, Pontiac builds 99% of them with automatics in various shades of gray. How come Toyota has way more 5 sp Matix's available? Maybe its because Pontiac is gearing up for all the old Oldsmobile customers (and I mean OLD). I would get a Matrix, but I think it is kind of ugly!Pete
When we tried to order our new Vibe, we could not get an '05 5 speed with options either. This was 2 months ago. We ended up getting an '06 and still had to comprimise in order to get it right away and not wait 2 months for one to be built to order. By the way pdworak, my '04 was Fusion and it was gorgeous.
You didn't offend me at all, I was just putting in my 2 cents. Silver is the most popular color of cars though, and sells the best, including on the Vibe...there is a sales numbers post somewhere on here where it lists the sales by color and satellite has a huge lead. I don't know why people like silver so much, but apparently they do so I guess that's why they offer a lot of similar colors -- that's what will sell. I like the fusion too but people who want a bright colored car are probably unfortunately the minority.

Yes, $1500 on an '06. $500 basic rebate plus $1000 if you have a non GM car. The non-GM thing just got lowered to $500. Note that you can now get $3000 off of '05's. Pete

There was no hope of getting a Corolla or Matrix with the options I wanted, and they had to go to Illinois to find the Vibe I wanted. (Else I'dve had to order one).Too bad Envy and Fusion hit the dustbin. Not my choices, but fun colors.
