Wow!!! That looks really familiar!!! I'm sure with the snow that we got last night and today that the salt will be thick once again. All I have been doing is about once every week or every other week go to a high pressure spray wash and know the salt off so it doesn't get too thick.

Cohocarl did you pick that salt up on Midland Rd. or I-75? In the city here it was bad. It's not as visible on my vibe (Satellite) as yours, but it's still there.

Can you all here our paints scream?? I use to like winter. The snow. Driving. But, I hate it now. The stupid people that cant drive in it. The light dusting of snow and the 3" of salt. This winter really bites. I have that song "California Dreaming" in my head right now.03Vibe5speed: I hear ya. Thats the way it works with me. I wash my car, and the next day it rains or snows, even though they arent calling for any. LoL Dont go to Elizabethtown. They use TONS of salt. They must have their own salt mine.

Yes, contrary to what many would say, we do still have a lot of coal left here in PA, and a few of the old coal mines are on fire and have been for decades. Nobody really knows how to put them out and they aren't affecting much so they don't really bother with them.As for salt, we mine a lot of it from up under Lake Erie from what I am told. The company I work for hauls hundreds of tons of salt every winter for our own use and for others who use road salt on their property and have no way to haul so much of it. We get most of our salt from a company named Rochez, which is located in the Monongahela River Valley about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, if I guess right. My apartment is about 23 stories up and I overlook the Mon River. I often see dozens of loaded river barges carrying salt headed their way. I'm not sure how it gets from Erie to down here around Pittsburgh, but I see it in the barges quite often.
